... nobody's bitching?

It’s so sad how many really good posters we’ve lost this way over the years. :frowning:

It might.

Jerry is Director of Management Information Systems (Chicago) and the people listed under him are (1) a Network and Systems Administrator (2) a Web Editor (3) a Web Development person and (4) a Web Assistant. None of the latter four people are guaranteed to have, or are even likely to possess, knowledge of the software that drives this system.

Link.

So Jerry is the MIS Director, I did not realize that. That means the level of ignoring the faults in this board are higher than I ever realized. I always assumed he was just some harried network admin, not the man in charge of the It department and thus making recommendations on what should be done to the CEO.

Hopefully Creative Loafing will decide what they want to do with this board and maybe take it off Jerry’s overload platter.

Jim

Huh? I’m not sure what your issue was with my post, or why the length of time I’ve been registered here would matter…

I dunno either, some people seem to forget that a new poster could have been lurking for years. Or that a fresh perspective often comes from newbies.

Obviously, if you haven’t posted at least 4000 times, you’re nobody. Sheesh, why should the **Cool Kids ** listen to you?

Dangit, just like high school. At least here, they can’t beat me up and take my lunch money

Too many OP’s from the Orient aren’t good either.

We have Cool Kids here? I thought we were all just a bunch of geeks and freaks.

I’m not. I pay $15 for the content, not the software. Would I like it if the Boards were more reliable? Sure, but I’m not leaving over it. YMMV (and obviously does), but I urge you to reconsider because for me you’re one of the people who adds value to my subscription.

Perfectly stated.

If the software isn’t working, there might as well be no content, since you can’t access it.

True enough, but if I decided to quit buying PC games every time one of them crashed, I’d… well, I’d be a lot more productive, probably.

Would you keep playing the same game if it crashed over and over again?

Or different games from the same company that consistently ships untested games that frequently crash.

Well, that depends on whether the frustration caused by the crashes outweighed the enjoyment of playing the game.

Consider also that even a great game costing $40 might last me a couple weeks, and then one or two weeks a year for the next 3-4 years. The Dope costs me $15 a year and has considerably more replayability.

For me, the hours of enjoyment are worth the (relative) minutes of frustration. As I said, YMMV.

That’s not fair. I’m not a reader of the Chicago Reader, and I don’t have any SD merchandise.

I eventually finished HellGate and that sumbitch crashed almost every day.

Quite often “new users” who have something to say about the way things are run are actually banned members coming back incognito. If that’s not what you are, then I apologize.

ETA:

Hey, check the Siam Sam Pit thread. If there’s one thing I’m not around here, it’s a cool kid. But then I’d rather be uncool and speak my mind than cool and going along with everyone else, so I don’t really care too much.

Yeah!

Get out of here, ya rabble rouser!

ETA: the real reason I Pitted you is that every time I see your username, this (video link) gets stuck in my head and that’s really kind of unforgivable.
