I just bought myself a Nokia 7250, put the battery in and put it in the charger for the recommended 12-24 hour time period. It made a beep, but nothing has come up on the screen (my old 3310 has a bar on the side to show that the battery is charging, even when it’s off) Is this supposed to happen? Does nothing come up on the screen the first time you charge it?
ahem BUMP
Newere mobile phones generally come with a charged battery, if not fully charged then at least a bit. Have you tried turning it on yet?
In Dublin the battery always needs charging when you get a new phone.
My 7650 did the same thing. In the end I turned it on while charging just to make sure it was working, then turned it back off again and gave it the full charge time.
I just turned it on. Seems like it’s charging now. When I turned it off again the bar appeared. Weird. Hopefully I haven’t stuffed it up. I’ll give it the full charge time (24hrs) just to make sure.
Cheers jjim and iteki for your replies.
How long do you not see the charging bar for ?
It is possible that the battery, being new, holds not enough charge to begin displaying the bar. Check in an hour to see whether the bar shows up.
That’s what I was thinking, xash.
I checked it about an hour after I started charging it and it hadn’t appeared. I turned the phone on to check it was actually charging (which it was), then off and the bar is there now. Sweeeet. I like new phones hehe
