non-domesticated animals you'd like as a pet

When I was a little kid (Like, 2 to 4), I used to dream about owning a Platypus. I have no idea why. There was just something about a duck-billed mammal that I thought was insanely neat.

Later of course, I discovered that they are actually rather nasty animals, and the only poisonous mammal. I sure knew how to pick my pets.

I’ve had a lot of these animals!

Lessee, the one’s that are past residents include - A skunk, grey squirrels, a flying squirrel, a degu, a vole, a ferret and a short tailed possum.

At work I’ve got a chipmunk, a half wild/domestic rat and a African spiny mouse that are mine. I’ve also got a turtle, but he’s staying with a guy the boss knows, in his pond for the winter. I’ll get him back in the spring.

Hmm, what’s around here at the moment? Well, the usual cat, dog and budgies. There’s the goldfish and a bunch of assorted domestic rats and mice. Gerbil - yep. An albino, in fact. Couple of chinchilla’s…rabbit…guinea pig…hedgehog. I’ve got a wild rat and a wild mouse. Oh, and a tarantulla. My snakes and bearded dragon are boarded at my friend’s place.

I look after a fair number of critters at work but the only ones I don’t actually have one of are the fruit bat and the ferrets. Of course there are many more reptiles and other critters at work, but not in my section. In the past I’ve looked after pouched rats and helped with a kinkajou and marmoset. You DON’T want a marmoset!

What would I like? Well, a group of meerkats would be top of the list!
