Non-Halo/Bioshock 360 game recommendations?

Portal is entirely a puzzle game, really; the only thing “FPS” about it is the perspective, which is first person. The only thing you’ll be “shooting” is walls, creating portals to solve the problems presented to you. The computer in charge of the experiment, GLaDOS, is one of the most well-written and hilarious characters I’ve seen in a game in ages. Plus, the song she sings over the end credits might be the best original song from any video game, ever. And I am including the Great Mighty Poo in that assessment.

There are some “twitch” moments in it, though, where accurate shots and speed are important.

nods I’ve seen a bit of gameplay and read up on it when I noticed how popular it had become. I agree, Still Alive is greatly amusing and catchy. And heh, I wasn’t expecting a reminder of Bad Fur Day here; I remember that game. It’s still somewhere at home buried in a bunch of other N64 games, I think.

I’d only expect that; it’s not my reflexes that I’m worried about when it comes to FPS, so that’s okay. It’s mostly that I get lost far too easily in them, because I’m sure I could stay alive in a firefight much easier with practice. That, and I’m so used to a third-person view that it takes me a bit to get the hang of something first-person when I start it.

There aren’t very many though, almost all of it allows you to take your time particularly when you realise that you’re orientation when traveling between portals is persistent, so you can bounce in and out of vertical portals repeatedly and adjust your aim gradually.

Yeah, but that won’t help you with getting the energy balls where they need to go before they die out.
