Do Eisenhower “silver” dollar coins have any value? I was given a bag, containing 35 of these (1971-1974). Of course, they have no silver content (they are of a copper-nickel “sandwich”), and are beginning to corrode (the copper turns green). I suspect they have no value beyond $1.00-anybody know?
The value of a coin depends on the condition it is in (Fine, Very Fine, Uncirculated, etc…), as well as rarity.
You should be able to get a copy of “A GUIDEBOOK OF UNITED STATES COINS” for under $20. I apologise, but I do not have any reference material on hand for ya.
Looking at completed eBay listings, I see that bulk lots got for around $1.50 per dollar coin.
We buy these over the counter in the coin shop for $1.05 each. We buy perhaps 1000/month. Probably more. I’ll sell them to you for !.35 each, !.25 each per hundred. If you want totally original Uncirculated exaples, without regard to date, I can sell you rolls at $1.50/per. The mintages are just too high for them to have any future value.
I’ll take 5000 at that .25 each please.
(Might want to have that shift key looked at!)
