Nonstop flights from Nashville to Las Vegas?

Okay, I just wasn’t sure where else to ask this…

Is there actually NO airline except Southwest that has a nonstop flight to Las Vegas from Nashville??? This seems awfully hard to believe… but I’m honestly not sure how to find out. On travel sites (like yahoo), they do not seem to actually include ALL options, so even though they say there are no nonstop flights, well, Southwest does have one, which I had to go somewhere else to find out. So I’m trying to find out if anyone here would happen to know the answer to this question.

Use your phone, & start calling the airport.

It’s not really that hard to believe. Neither city is a hub for any airline, so all the major airlines would want you to stop somewhere in the middle. Southwest has something of a hub, but not an actual hub, in Las Vegas - they just have a lot of direct flights there from other cities because it’s a popular destination. And Southwest saves money by offering their flights only on their website and through their reservation line. So yes, it’s perfectly plausible that the only direct flight between Nashville and Las Vegas would be on Southwest. Is there a reason you don’t want to fly on Southwest?

Sorry for this somewhat non-commital answer: I don’t think so because BNA (Nashville) is not a hub for any major airline, nor is LAS…that said, occasionally you will find anomalies, sometimes an airline will offer non-stop flights between non-hub cities, especially to popular destinations like Las Vegas…for a city like LAS, you’re more likely to find something like this during the colder months. I know that NW recently offered a non-stop between Milwaukee (MKE) and LAS (NW’s hubs are Detroit, Mpls, and Memphis), I don’t think it was a year round flight though. The problem with sites like Yahoo, some of the others is that they don’t offer options for the low cost carriers…if you’re looking at European travel for instance, Ryanair, Easy jet, Whizzair, etc., any of the LCC’s are not going to be displayed as options even though their prices will almost always be lower than KLM, Lufthansa, BA, etc. I normally would not advocate use of a travel agent but if you need a non-stop out of BNA, your only option might be a charter which you probably would not be able to book online. Flyertalk.com is also an EXCELLENT resource.

Hmmm…Signature Aviation is a charter firm at the airport.
If they often fly to Vegas, you may be able to snag a seat on somebody else’s charter.

Call em.

Can’t hurt to ask.

You mentioned that you didn’t find info on the Southwest flight on the travel sites. I think that’s because Southwest only sells its tickets directly.

At one time Nashville was a hub for American Airlines. Last February I went back to Nashville for the first time since AA left years ago. I was shocked. Nashville used to be busy. It was deserted.

As the others have said, for almost all airlines almost all the time, the only non-stops are to/from hubs.

LAS is a hub for America West / USAir. if anyone was going to do BNA-LAS nonstop, it’d be them.

LAS is a VERY low yield market and other than for midwinter junkets from the hard-core snow country you’re not likely to find non-hub special non-stops like Midwestgirl mentioned.

There is nothing but Southwest. Northwest used to have a small hub at BNA back in the mid-1990’s, but I can only imagine that WN chased them eventually if they had flown BNA-LAS.

I can’t imagine that there is enough demand for another airline to come in and try and match WN’s frequency and prices.

I work in a call center travel agency (and I’m having a very slow morning) so I decided to check. Looks like Southwest is the only airline that offers nonstop flights between Nashville and Vegas.
