"Normal" foods that make you retch

Oooh! Pork rinds! Deep fried lard! I tried these (with much trepidation) when I went lo-carb for a while. Yummy! Deep fried lard with salsa, especially!

Man, some of you guys are picky. How could anyone not like dill pickles, tripe, oysters, peanut butter, olives, and other things is beyond me.

That said, I’m sure that some of the foods on my list will certainly be liked by other people.

My list:

[ul]
[li]garlic ice cream (once had it at Gilroy, CA… yuck)[/li][li]eggplant[/li][li]coconut[/li][li]pork intestines and uteri[/li][li]liver and kidney[/li][li]stinky tofu (yes, there is such a thing… regular tofu is fine)[/li][li]squash[/li][/ul]

I’m sure I’ll think of more later on…

Oranges and all of their foul by-products: marmalade, Grand Marnier, OJ. On the other hand, “fake” orange (candy, orange crush, etc) - deeeeelish!
The only oranges I have ever been able to eat are Christmas oranges, blood oranges (which rather freaks some people out) and these insanely sweet organic Valencia oranges that seem to appear for about a week a year. Aside from these specialty seasonal oranges, bleccch.

Beer

Creamy food - mayo, ice cream, milkshakes, blorgggg!

And don’t even get me started on attempting to drink a glass of milk.

Pork.

“little things” foods - Stuff that contains little bits - spumoni ice cream for example.
However, I do know one woman who is definitely one of the world’s weirdest eaters. The only alcoholic beverage that she will drink is ice tea ( acertain brand only) and bacardi rum. She’ll order her pasta sauce on the side - not so she can control the sauce distribution, but so she can eat the sauce first, then the noodles (or is it the other way around?) These are just drops in the bucket of her food weirdness, however.

apple pie
canteloupe
coconut
cottage cheese
diet anything
gravy
green beans from a can or frozen
green bell pepper - but red and yellow are good
honeydew
jam
jelly
ketchup
lima beans
liver
mayonnaise
peanut butter - except on apple slices

Why, yessssss, it issssss. <takes hearty swig>

even though it’s been over a month I’m still going to reply to this.

~that orzo natural rice like stuff literally makes me sick
~beans (any kind)
~liver
~lettuce
~coffee and tea
etc. etc. etc.

Milk
Bell Peppers
Raw Tomatoes
Red Meat

Good thread - I missed it while my internet connection was down.

My list
[ul]
peas
mushrooms
olives
sweet pickles
yellow mustard (brown or dijon is fine is minute quantities)
[/ul]

Mustard. It is the Condiment of Evil.

Mayo is Mustard’s loyal sidekick. Ewwwwww!!!

Ketchup. I don’t know exactly why, but I hate it.

Due to how much I hate both of those, I refuse to eat sandwiches that may contain them unless I am standing right at their elbow watching. Even then, I am suspicious. I’ve known a few people who would use a knife for, say, mayo, and then go for the butter to put together MY sandwich, with the SAME KNIFE! AAAAAAAAA!!! And if my BF eats mustand I make sure he brushes his teeth before he tries to kiss me.

Raw tomatoes. Sauces are okay, but I don’t like tomato chunks.

Most cheeses. ALL fake cheeses. Just pass the sharp cheddar and shut up about it, willya?

There are other things, but those are the biggies. I have a close friend who has a serious aversion to lettuce. Now, THAT I don’t understand. But she doesn’t understand my condiment aversions, either.

Crap. I added the ketchup after doing most of the rest of that post. Make that “due to how much I hate all three of those,” though I’ve never had anybody try to put ketchup on a sandwich. At least not in my presence. Ewwwww!

Add my votes for the following:[ul][li]Catsup/ketchup[/li][li]Raw celery[/li][li]Dr. Pepper[/li][li]Coffee[/li][li]Blueberries[/li][li]Almonds[/li][li]Bacon[/li][li]Liver[/li][li]Fried mushrooms[/li][/ul] And my least favorite flavor in the world:

Licorice

HOW COULD ANYONE HATE ASPARAGUS??? It is heavenly! I love mine marinated in balsamic vinegarette. mm mm better.

What really skeevs me:
>>most any kind of fish (long story involving the Olympics in Norway, my mom being into them and a worm in some salmon)
>>bananas (I hate the way they lend their heinous flavor to gentler things, like bread. Also the phallic imagery is alway fun AND they have an icky consistancy.)

I like eel sushi though. and that’s kinda…fishy:confused: ohhhh well!

I frog got! Any type of squash. The rest of my family LOVES squash…they all must be on crack. Also, mushrooms make me gag.

My list is short, but I have strong opinions about these nasty, nasty things:

eggs
carrots
asparagus
ketchup
peas
olives
mushrooms

oh yeah, and any mayonnaise based “salads”. Egg, pasta, potato, coleslaw, etc. Just so gross.

[ul]
[li]I despise all types of fish - tuna, halibut, cod, sole, especially salmon.[/li][li]Watermelon[/li][li]Peas[/li][li]Kidney beans[/li][li]Ground beef[/li][/ul]

Kat, are you my soul mate? What’s your take on macaroni and cheese washed down with grape soda?

Oreo cookies (they taste like frosted dirt)
Shellfish of any kind (just the smell makes my stomach heave)
Green lima beans
Green peas
Squash
Pizza, especially if it has a lot of gooey cheese
Doughnuts (too greasy and too sweet)
Cake frosting
Mayonaise

Meat.

Dunking cookiees in milk is pure ambrosia. So pphhhbbblllttt!!!

I absolutely hate homemade stuffing. I will ONLY eat the boxed mix kind, like Butterball or Stove Top.

Sun dried tomatoes.
