I realize that cars are rare in North Korea, but they do exist. Does North Korea manufacture its own automobiles or are they all imported? If they do manufacture them, do they have their own brands, or do they manufacture foreign (Japanese or Russian, I expect) brands?
IIRC, and I do not have the book to cite at hand, the PDRK once manufactured cars from kits sent in by some company that wanted to establish a presence. Party people took the first batch of 50 or a 100 or whatever. End of story. No payment, no more meetings, ‘thanks for the cars fools.’
Pyonghwa Motors, which is majority owned by the Unification Church, is producing two cars licensed by Fiat.
