I’m overhauling my computer a bit, and I was considering a purchase of Norton Systemworks 2000. I need new anti-virus software, and the Utilities and CrashGuard would be very useful. Altogether, well worth the $59.99.
However, I’ve read some very negative reviews online, from people saying that NS itself had caused all sorts of problems, including even MORE crashes.
Does anyone have any experience with this software, or a better alternative?
Crashguard jumped on System Doctor once and it is sometimes flaky. I’f had fewer problems since I selected the safest options in CMOS, so it might be a cheap motherboard. It’s nice to be able to ture some of Norton off in Win 98. Norton Anti-virus found one before McAfee knew it existed. The I love you, I think.
I’ve had it for about…a year. I love it. Saved me from having more crashes, more crap, and a LOT of viruses. I’ve never had it cause a problem, either on my old homebuilt P166, my laptop, or my new P550.
