Someone was telling me about getting some sort email message where one of Nostradamus’ predictions is used to seemingly describe the horrific events of November 11, 2001. Here it is:
> Nostradamus’ prediction on World War 3:
> “In the year of the new century and nine months,
> From the sky will come a great King of Terror…
> The sky will burn at forty-five degrees.
> Fire approaches the great new city…”
> “In the city of york there will be a great collapse,
> 2 twin brothers torn apart by chaos
> while the fortress falls the great leader will succumb
> third big war will begin when the big city is burning”
> NOSTRADAMUS
> He said this will be bigger than the previous two.
> 2001 is the first year of the new century and this is
> the 9th month. New York is located at the 41st degree
> Latitude.
I’ve been trying to verify if this is even from Nostradamus. Anyone know anything? Thanks,
Actually, I usually check things out at snopes.com first, but for whatever reason, I can’t get there today. But, yeah, I also found that second part of the quote to be Marshal’s. Thanks again.
“Nostradamus expert” John Hogue has denounced the “York” prophecies, although he naturally has found authentic Nostradamus passages which he believes predict these events. I think the most you’re going to get on it at the moment is at http://www.unknowncountry.com/news/?id=774.
THis hoax is getting worse every minute. The fake quatrain says 45 degrees and they gleefully point out that NYC is on the 41st degree. At least they didn’t lie about where NYC is like the other versions I’ve seen.
However, there was a spooky set of quatrains that is legit:
To a leader will be born an idiot heir,
Weak both in knowledge and in warfare.
The head of France is feared by his sister,
Battlefields divided, conceded to the military.
(this was the quatrain that was monkeyed with and circulated several months ago. I don’t know why people feel the need to make Nostradamus spookier than he already is.)
A doubtful one will not come far from the realm,
The greater part will want to support him:
A Capitol, will not want him to rule at all,
His great burden he will not be able to maintain.
(sounds like gore, doesn’t it?)
The year 1999, seventh month, [or simply “sept”]
From the sky will come a great King of Terror.
To bring back to life the great King of the Mongols,
Before and after Mars to reign by good luck.

In this gloomy prediction of the coming of the Third Antichrist in July 1999, Nostradamus seems to foresee the coming of the Millennium. He was greatly influenced towards this opinion by contemporary thought. This quatrain indicates that it will be preceded by the coming of the Third Antichrist from the East, “the king of the Mongols,” before the Final Coming of the Great King of Terror. It is interesting to note that Nostradamus foresees war both before and after his coming. He, therefore, does not envisage an instant End of the World.
