Here’s a Catholic priest who has started an online petition to overturn a legal loophole that allows violence against gays.
This loophole has previoulsy been successfully used in a murder case:

The very fact that it is considered newsworthy should be a source of embarrassment for the Catholic church. On the Church’s web site it even has to explain why it is right for them to raise such a petition.
Good for them that they are trying to change though. The priest involved seems to be on nodding terms with 20th Century at least. They still practice discrimination at the highest level but as is always the case, human decency will out. (They still have that tricky “woman” thing to tackle though don’t they?)

Problem is, the “rest of you” are giving the “Noisy, Politicized Christians” a good name. You are the ones who sustain them. Without you, they would be completely marginalized as the hateful, destructive cultists that they are.
The “rest of you” are allowing the “NPC” to keep up their evil bullshit by giving them succor and giving credence to the fairy tales the hate-mongering Christians keep spewing in our faces.
The “rest of you” spread around the same nonsense that the “NPC” do–even if it is toned down a bit. As long as the mellow, nice-guy Christians keep mouthing the same lies that the nasty, fire-and-brimstone Christians do, they are a huge part of the problem.
Being moderate or liberal in your personal crucified-Jew fantasy is no excuse to perpetuate the destructive myth. Give up the charade entirely. That’s the only way to redeem yourselves and spare the rest of us.
