That’s wonderful news, twickster! Best of luck!
By my count, that’s two people who are supposed to bring donuts to Gettysdope III.

Congratulations! You’ll be the best editrix ever! The Queen Bee!
Congrats!
And if you’d like to feature a GREAT non profit with THE most beautimous gardens please feel free to contact me. Better Homes and Gardens is doing a spread on our place and will be shooting in June.
:::doing the happy dance for you:::
That’s the puzzle palace.
Congrats! Hope your magazine includes lots about growing veggies and the like. I only plant stuff I can eat.
And it takes all types - my Dad’s army buddy edited “Modern Sanitation and Maintenance” - a magazine for people who manage janitors, for decades.
Yup – ornamental, of course – but also plenty on veggies – plus fruit trees, etc. I’m also hoping we can do some articles on community gardens and other projects by nonprofits and other neighborhood-based groups (ahem, adoptamom), and not just home gardens. Plus hard-hitting articles on organic pest control and the like. Unleash the ladybugs!
Well, I’m guessing there’s gonna be an article or two on compost in my future…
That’s really fantastic news. Congratulations!
Let me know the name of the magazine, and I’ll subscribe.
I’ll have a booth at Gettysdope.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
What a perfect fit for you
(although I suppose this will put you out of range to meet for lunch )
I was thinking about you this morning as I drove to work – I’m here through April 7th, let’s get together before then! I’ll email you.
congrats, twickster. see it as job karma, then.
i’m not a gardener, but i do like me some garden fresh cucumbers. just…send em on over my way…with some salt and a peeler and i’m a happy trevor.
That’s excellent!
I’ve never known anyone else (except my former coworkers) that worked in a puzzle factory- I did it when I was about 17 or 18. Cool job, but did pay for shit. Congrats on the new gig!
Ooh! And do features of different seasons in one garden and also feature different areas of the country and how they garden to reduce water usage and improve soil via composting etc.
I loves me some garden mags!
I have to ask–what kind of puzzles? (I was picturing jigsaw, but somehow, I doubt that…)
Word puzzles: crosswords, word-finds, etc. I was in charge of “etc.”
Gardening subjects Shirley Would Like to See:
Becoming a Worm Farmer I forget the technical name of worm farmers but worm poop is called castings. I want to do this.
Setting fire to your neighbors 20 acre weed patch so that it no longer contaminates your veggie garden and how not to get caught or do jail time. There might be a limited readership with this one.
When the Veggies are Ripe the Friends and Relatives start crawling out of the wood word. Discuss. Its like winning the lottery around here in mid to late august.
Wood Work.
Time for more coffee.
oh. So YOU are the evil person who fiendishly ruins all attempts at relaxation on loooong flights, eh?
<notes twickster’s license plate and model/make of car> Oh, OK.
Shirley --I would read the burning one. I would also read the one about installing an irrigation system that diverts your neighbor’s napalm (aka weed killer)off your lawn and flower beds/veggie gardens…and sends it back to HIS toxic lawn.
Heh.
Vermiculture.
Just read a book about this over the weekend – well, on worms in general – give me your address and I’ll send it to you.
