Originally I was going to mention it in this thread, because it can use some of the same mechanics.
However, at the same time, you’re not trying to get out of a room using what you find inside. Instead, you’re trying to make your way to the end using what that page gives you hint-wise. So I figured it best to make a new thread for this.
Now, some warning: if you don’t like giving up on a challenge, this will probably drive you nuts. You could easily spend hours on this; heck, days. You will need not only deductive reasoning and sleuthing skills like the ‘get out of this room’ games, but you will need to be able to use Google, and also know how to work with viewing the source of a page and other computer know-how. You will have to use sound editing, graphic editing, know html programming, and the list goes on.
I have never completed this game, and I can’t remember how far I’ve ever gotten. I don’t know if it was ever shown on these message boards, but hey, let’s start it in the new Game forum, shall we?
Good luck everyone. Whoever gets a certified acknowledgment of finishing this and gets said certificate is required to show it with a RL pic of it, because you damn well deserve to show it off.
I’d love to take a stab at this, but my computer has inexplicably lost the ability to see alt text and view source (I’ve never been able to figure out why, and it frustrates me to no end). So, I’ll probably be missing some pretty important information in a few areas.
You’ll have to look into the source code of the page. Note the IFRAME. What keyboard command could help you make sure you’re seeing everything? Also take note of what could be an alternative.
As for you who will get no work done because of me, I’m sorry. …well, maybe only a little.
If you’re using Firefox and want to see alt text for a picture, just right click it and choose Properties. Otherwise, I don’t know how to help with the page source problem. =/
Oh, and another thing. I don’t think you’ll need anything fancy like photoshop when it comes to working with the images. And your computer’s own sound recorder might be enough to work with anything fancy you’ll have to do when it comes to sound.
I am too. I’ve put in so many different quasi-logical guesses. For now, I need to sleep. Tomorrow though, I can stay up as late as I want working on this quandary because I won’t have work again until Wednesday. If you come up with the answer and want to give me any hints, feel free to. I’ve gotten the hint from the very bottom of the source code and the one from the pop-up window, but I’m clueless as to how to use them. Good luck to you!
Highlight the black area on the bottom of the page, then use the hint at the bottom of the source code (ascii). If you don’t know what ascii refers to, google it.
Heh, the first 10 levels are supposed to be a kind of tutorial. They give basic riddles that teach you the methods you need later. That doesn’t bode well for me since I can’t get past the first non-“tutorial” one.
I haven’t seen this thing since my Sophomore year in college. I think my friends and I formed a team and made it to level 24? I can’t really remember =/
MissMossie - Exactly! The sun and sky? Pfft, who needs it.
Lute Skywatcher - You know, ever since that thread started that introduced that, I’ve been thinking on it and Googling what it could be or anything. Someday. …Someday.
