Not Quite A Nerd...Not Quite A Hunk (Beauty)

I was watching a rerun of the Simpsons and Homer mentions Shia Labeouf and classifies hiim as:

“not quite a nerd, not quite a hunk”

So using this criteria what other actors or actresses or just other famous people (sports personalities, news reporters, what-have-you) would you qualify as

***“not quite a nerd, not quite a hunk”

Obviously you’d replace hunk with beauty for a woman personality

The chick from 30rock that does the Sarah Palin impersonation on SNL.

Tina Fey? She’s gorgeous!

Really? :dubious: I don’t think she’s ugly but I’ve never found her particularly attractive. And no, I don’t have crazy standards.

No, Tina Fey is definitely smoking hot. No room for debate on that one.

Reading about Tremors in another thread, I nominate Kevin Bacon. though he was cute as a button in Tremors. His looks, like his movie career, are betwixt and between. Distinctive, definitely watchable, yet never crossing over to greatness.

Yeah, but Shia the Egg has a distinctive nerdy vibe going. Every see The Battle For Shaker Heights? Oofa. Kevin Bacon has never had a nerdy vibe going.

Tina Fey is a good example for the women.

For the guys, someone like Zachary Levi (Chuck) or John Krasynski (Jim from The Office).

I’ll call your John Krasynski and raise you Edward Norton rawr

Maybe Toby Maguire? Especially circa Spiderman 2.

Helen Hunt
Brian Williams
David Letterman
Lisa Loeb
David Byrne
Jodie Foster
Stephen Colbert
Phillip Seymour Hoffman
The guys from Imagination Movers!
Steve Buscemi :stuck_out_tongue:

criterion, singular

Agree with your examples and that Tina Fey is a great fit.

Shia the Egg?

Shia the BEEF. Oeuf is French for egg. Beouf is beef.

Oops, my bad. Hate when I ruin a joke.

And Shia is ‘peace’, so you could homonymistically translate his name to ‘Piece of Beef’.

Well, lots of guys here seem to think Jenna Fischeris the ultimate hot geek girl, though I don’t really see it. Alyson Hannigan seems to fit the bill pretty well.

Sticking with the “How I Met Your Mother” theme, I’ll say Jason Segel.

I’ll second Toby Maguire.
Also, Michael Cerra (though he is probably more geek/nerd than hunk!)

Oh, and while Weird Al is famous for being geeky/nerdy, he’s surprisingly good-looking!

Donal Logue
Denis Leary
Anthony Edwards
Jeff Daniels
Michael Richards
Lyle Lovett

Mary Lynn Rasjkub

America Ferrera

actually, *le boeuf *is beef. “La Beouf” is… I don’t know, but it really bothers me a lot.
