Heck, techchick, set up right, you can have an infinite number of email addresses, even though you only have one ip address, just by setting it up so that your domain name handles anything sent to your domain gets handled as being sent to primary, rather than bounced.

This policy was set up to address problems that have not occurred in the forum I moderate: Comments on Cecil’s Columns. I also received the email about it, but I don’t recall seeing a directive for us to post it in our forums. It makes sense that it would be posted in BBQ and GD, though. As for multiple users of one computer, or using someone else’s computer; maybe I’m confused, but why can’t people continue to use their own screen names from those machines? I believe this new policy was devised to address specific problems of abuse - not to play Big Brother. In my forum they argue about astronomy, so it’s not a humungous problem.

I can do that with my domain, one of my clients is set up that way, we have custom MX records to forward any email to our local Exchange Server. With my domain though, I have my email handled by their email servers, so I have to follow their storage space requirements and such.
Most of the message boards and supscriptions that I have though, I use my AOL addresses. I prefer to keep my business domain separate from those things
