Novel about ants - need title please

There’s a children’s or young adult novel that I loved. Help me with the title please.
I read Empire of the Ants hoping for a similar tale - nope. Really dark.

My memories: the quest of a young ant (Dreamer) on behalf of his group. Early in the story he has a conversation with an older worker who’s job is taking care of the aphids. One of the other workers gets in trouble for drinking nectar which gets him drunk.

The hero warns his colony of the approach of a group of larger ants near the end.

Could it have been the (long) section in T. H. White’s The Once and Future King where a young King Arthur is transformed into an ant, and lives in a colony up until they have a war with a neighboring colony?

No, that’s not it but now I can re-read TOAFK. I love re-reads! Thanks.

Could it be A Rustle in the Grass?

Two Bad Ants ?

(Or “Watership Ant”, “About an Ant”, or “The Aphid Whisperer”?)

I think we have both been searching for the same exact book.

in the book does the main character go on some scouting or foraging trip and get ambushed and captured by enemy ants and taken to work for the enemy ants?

and like the end of the book it rains or something and it floods everything?
I read it around 1998-2000 when I was 8-10 my brother, sister and I have been wracking our brains trying to remember the name of the book. I just ordered the suggestion of “a rustle in the grass” It looked really similar to my memory of the book.

heres crossing my fingers that it is the right book!
I will know in 6-14 business days… rofl
