So I was doing my taxes and I didn’t do badly. I owed the federal government about as much as I overpaid the state and neither total was so extreme egregious that I’d have to worry about the imbalance.
Then I noticed something on my state’s tax forms as I got to the end.
I want to state right now I am not making this up.
On the lines for refund and tax due there are… wingding smiley faces. :rolleyes:

Can you imaging how much time and energy was spent proposing, debating, creating RFPs, evaluating suppliers, and political backscratching went on over those wingdings? 'cause you know it happened. Tax dollars at work.
It’s hilarious to me because I don’t live in Arkansas and I’m reading about it on the internet. I guarantee if I was sitting at my desk filling out my California forms and saw that, I’d have rolled my eyes and ranted about it too.
