Now is not the time to come together as Americans

I just want to toss this out there… WHO selected Pence as his running mate???

I’ll toss this here too, for those who still lie that it was not about race…

The parade is planned for December. The official Klan sanctioned victory parade.

Ku Klux Klan announces Trump victory parade in North Carolina
Posted 9:48 am, November 11, 2016, by Tory Brecht

PELHAM, N.C. – A chapter of the Ku Klux Klan says it will hold a victory parade in North Carolina to celebrate Donald Trump’s win over Hillary Clinton this week.

The Loyal White Knights are planning the parade for December 3, according to a post on the Pelham, N.C., group’s website advertising a “Victory Klavalkade Klan Parade.”

No exact time or place is specified, just the date and the message, “TRUMP=TRUMP’S RACE UNITED MY PEOPLE.”

The Loyal White Knights number between 150 and 200 members, according to the Anti-Defamation League, and were behind a rally in South Carolina last year to protest the removal of the Confederate flag from the state Capitol building.

Earlier this year, Trump received an endorsement from the Imperial Wizard of the Rebel Brigade of the Ku Klux Klan during an interview with WWBT. He’s also been endorsed by David Duke, the former leader of the KKK, who celebrated Trump’s win on Twitter

Are you sure the sky won’t be falling !!?? Trump will have the air so polluted that people will be falling from not being able to breath ! I hope you don’t have any family members that asthma or any other respiratory illnesses !

I’m hoping for that, too, in the sense that Canada might be able to buy Vermont cheap in the inevitable bankruptcy liquidation.

I’m gonna shock some of you… I just read that Trump is planning (hoping??) to finally do something about the “revolving door” where the stock market and banking big guys can jump back and forth between govt and business, making regulations that line their pockets and hamstringing those regs that limit them.

I can’t stand Trump, but this would still be an excellent thing.

But I still can’t stand him.

Just in case you missed it

Then we could have our own little Florida like penis!

Well, trying to keep an open mind about him - he may do some good things and should be credited for them. Did any of the current members of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs lose their elections? The current roster is:

r-Richard Shelby, Alabama, Chair
r-Mike Crapo, Idaho
r-Bob Corker, Tennessee
r-David Vitter, Louisiana
r-Pat Toomey, Pennsylvania
r-Mark Kirk, Illinois
r-Jerry Moran, Kansas
r-Tim Scott, South Carolina
r-Tom Cotton, Arkansas
r-Mike Rounds, South Dakota
r-Ben Sasse, Nebraska
r-Dean Heller, Nevada
d-Sherrod Brown, Ohio, Ranking Member
d-Jack Reed, Rhode Island
d-Chuck Schumer, New York
d-Bob Menendez, New Jersey
d-Jon Tester, Montana
d-Mark Warner, Virginia
d-Jeff Merkley, Oregon
d-Elizabeth Warren, Massachusetts
d-Heidi Heitkamp, North Dakota
d-Joe Donnelly, Indiana

Unless they got shook up in some way, I have my doubts about Trump’s chances of getting major change. Had the Democrats taken the Senate, maybe.

Toomey was reelected. :frowning:

This is the result of people not coming together.

Is this really what the OP wants for the future of America?

Americans were already touchy about the subject of insurance. They consider it a form of gambling.

I know. That’s precisely why his equivocation on his vote is so contemptible.

Yes, we could blame some of the 26 million Americans who actually voted for Trump, but many of these are clinical morons, or racists, or fools who think Trump will rob from the rich or rob from the poor or something and make them millionaires. Some had no clue whatsoever how important this election and were just acting out of rage, or while trying to pinch out a turd or something.

But Bricker should know better. Indeed he was bragging about it, saying repeatedly, in effect, “Yes, I’m a Republioturd but even I am smart enough not to vote for Trump!”

But when he got in the voting booth he forgot his pledge; his bloated-amygdala brain, like a Pavlov’s dog, almost had to pull the R lever. His apprentice adaher had no urge to vote for Trump. IIRC even Shodan, stupidest right-winger on the Board, came out against Trump. (Shodan probably wrote in Joe Arpaio, Cliven Bundy or Rush Limbaugh or such). But there’s Bricker, smart enough to know better, almost voting for this sociopath, this calamity-in-waiting whose election may very well turn from mere disappointment to planet-wide catastrophe.

This election has certainly taught us that millions of Americans are far stupider than we ever suspected: if they have the right to vote we might as well give the vote to cockroaches and millipedes. These idiots are not to blame — their mothers probably spent much of their pregnancies drunk. But the intelligent people who led the GOP to perdition must accept blame. Only a very very few — Romney, Bushes, who else? — put country ahead of party. We were proud that our very own Bricker seemed capable of following their example. Instead he pulls the Trump lever, than dithers. Bah!

At the risk of being whooshed: didn’t Trump get well over 60 million votes?

The 26 million number struck me as odd, too, since I thought there were reports that turnout was higher than 2012.

Possibly 26 is a typo inversion of 62.

Well, it was just “an idea”, something he said. Or maybe he had a massive brain fart. Keep in mind, his word isn’t worth shit anyway.

Elizabeth Warren has already signaled her willingness to “work with”(read “roll over and expose her soft underbelly”) the republicans. I don’t think democrats are capable of mounting any organized resistance to republican moves since they tend to think in terms of GREAT THEMES instead of simply gathering power.
As for this 64 year old straight white working class male, I’m gonna do what I taught my daughter to do. Never allow underdogs to go undefended. You may be the underdog one day. If you see someone giving someone else shit for being gay, foreign, black or brown or female, that shit stops right now, right here. Not on my watch.

As the surprise of the election wears off (and my personal disappointment, I was really cheering for Clinton45), I find I can’t sustain any anger for people who voted for Trump. Fine, they threw a “fuck you” at the system to prove how cool they were. Great, now go listen to some heavy metal to *really *shock the squares and stick it to the man or up the establishment or whatever it is the groovy kids say these days.

My more more enduring distaste is for voters who gave congress to the Republicans, I think partly from people who were all “Yeah! Trump! Fuck the Man! Uh… downticket? Uh, straight Republican, I guess, like whatever…” If changing the system was supposed to be this big desperate act of desperation by desperate people who have been ignored for so long and wanted change of any kind… why did they return the Republicans to congress? Were they under the impression Obama had been keeping *them *from getting things done?

Wow, that’s actually… really kind of awesome. And I’m vaguely annoyed at myself for feeling compelled to add that I’m serious because I don’t want anyone to see irony in my response because I use irony a lot.

I’ve expressed similar ideas, in part because I hear stories of left-handed people forced to conform and being left-handed myself, that kind of petty bullying that serves no purpose whatsoever but to satisfy some arbitrary standard of conformity pisses me right the fuck off.

That said, though, I’m not sure what Warren can do for now aside from being adult about it. Actually, I’m starting to feel a mild tingle of excitement at the idea of her being the intelligent counterTrump firebrand of 2020, who will be blunt and profane and loudmouthed, but against people who actually *deserve *it for screwing up the U.S. economy, rather than just playing to nativist fantasies of Mexican rapists stealing jobs from hardworking *American *rapists.

…And? Is Trump going to be there? Has Trump said he supports the KKK’s agenda? Does Trump control what the KKK does?

You know what I think they should do? I think they should just try and shut down the government! That would be a great idea!
