Now, it's illegal for a dog to fight a dog, and for a hog to fight a hog, but...

Simple minded? How simple minded does one have to be to know that ANIMAL CRUELTY IS WRONG??? Culturally different? It’s part of your “culture” to abuse and torture animals? Where the fuck are you living, asswipe? This has nothing to do with “evil propaganda”, dumbass, this has to do with people who think it’s A-OK to treat animals like shit just because they’re animals. Animal fighting is flat out WRONG, and anyone who thinks otherwise is just a sadistic asshole with nothing better to do than make something hurt and bleed.

I’m living in the real world. One not mis-shaped by the cancer of animal rights activism and the cultural hate and ignorance that it propagates. I would pity those with your ignorance and blind hatred except so many of you wish to legislate your hate that it angers me.

BTW it has been the majority of animal rights bigots in this thread, including yourself, that have expressed the desire to be sadistic.

FYI, I am not an animal rights activist. You’re probably thinking I’m a vegetarian, too, aren’t you? Well, wrong again. I am simply civilized enough to know that making animals fight each other for sport is cruel and inhumane. Cultural hate and ignorance against what, exactly? Against animal cruelty? Against abuse? Do you even know what goes on in animal fighting rings? The animals are starved and beaten to make them want to fight. You call that a cultural difference? You would be hard pressed to find people who agree with you, other than those fuckheads who think abusing an animal is fun. Do you think these animals don’t have feelings? Do you think they can’t feel the pain when fighting another animal? You don’t think those wounds hurt?

Ease up, Back-Bacon! The “real” football, auto and motorcycle racing seasons are over and who really gives a shit about basketball?

People gotta have something to watch.

The “wanting” usually surpasses the “having”.

Speaking as someone who lives in the neighborhood (less than 6 miles away from the ranch), I’d like to tell you that this is NOT an *accepted cultural practice * in central Arizona or any other part of the state.

If it was, there would be no story. Nobody would have been arrested, dawgs and pigs would have been left alone.

Hunting **is ** an accepted cultural practice, animal cruelty is not. Those nurfballs were buying Russian Boars (big ol hawgs) for the dogs to rip apart. Too sick for words.

I’ve been lurking here for over 3 years. The only reason I bothered to go thru the registration process was to tell the world that I think you are an idiot.

If you live in my neighborhood and I catch you doing any pit fighting, I, my fellow rescue workers, Animal Control and the Yavapai Sheriff will all work together to make your life very, very hard. If you don’t live in the area, please shut the fuck up about accepted cultural practice.

As long as its my first post, and I’ve really wanted to use this forever… :wally

well i agree with Machetero. if it’s “culturally” acceptable to a minority then everyone should accept it to, no? i believe we should all return to our own roots and hunt for our own food, and no pussy guns. so i vote for throwing a starved Machetero into the pit together with a very hungry hog. man versus the wild and all that.

Bah! If you payed your 15 bucks to call him idiot, that’d be saying something…

Yeah, well…I could spend 15 bucks to call someone an idiot, or I could spend 20 bucks to have a stray cat fixed.

Besides, chances are really good that our rescue group is going to end up with some of those dogs. We can buy 50 lbs of cheap dog food for 15 dollars.

Not having unlimited funds, I’ll forgo the pleasure of paying to call a nameless, faceless, basically unimportant stranger an idiot. I will get much more pleasure using that money to help rehab a rescued animal. YMMV.

No. But they shouldn’t bigoted individuals who try to outlaw it in the same of other discrimantory laws. I’m just not big on discriminating against other cultures even ones that I don’t like. I guess that I lack the HUGE superiority complex and intolerance that others like you do.

Probably reads better this way:

No. But they shouldn’t bigoted individuals who try to outlaw it in the same manner of other discrimantory laws. I’m just not big on discriminating against other cultures, even ones that I don’t like. I guess that I lack the HUGE superiority complex and intolerance that others like you have.

I really don’t care what bigots like you yourself think of me. My neighborhood is pretty devoid of bigots like you and of bigoted laws as well, so I don’t have to wory about violent discriminatory practices by either the state or civillians.

Let me try again. You don’t seem to understand. Animal cruelty *is * against the law in Arizona. Pit fighting *is not * an “accepted cultural practice”. The reason this case garnered national attention is because people were arrested AND because people are shocked about the cruelty.

This would have been a non-event if pit fighting was an accepted cultural practice in Arizona.

I’m very happy that you are not a neighbor. Please don’t move out here, you wouldn’t like the people or laws and would likely feel very unwelcome.

If you don’t mind a question…where do you live that pit fighting is an accepted cultural practice? You don’t have to be town specific, what state or country?

what kind of (adjective) mindset do you have that views protection of animals against sick (expletive) who would subject them to pain and torture for sport as discriminatory? am at a loss for words…
