Now that Elon Musk has bought Twitter - now the Pit edition (Part 1)

Meanwhile, here’s a real tweet;

Will he;

A) Call for another do-over
B) Blame bots for giving him the wrong result
C) Ignore the results and do what he was going to do anyway
D) Change his reason for banning them
E) All of the above

It’s worth noting that the wording of the poll is also extremely misleading, apparently intended to support Elmo’s position on banning, yet he lost the poll anyway. A significant majority of responders disagreed with Elmo despite the fact that it fails to mention that a large number of the journalists he banned did not in any way doxx his location in real-time – they were just reporting on the various related stories.

Umm, Elon? You do realize that, either way, the poll is in favor of reinstating the accounts right?

Surprisingly enough, Elmo actually has unbanned Mastodon and most of the journalists he banned yesterday.

Elonjet and Keith Olbermann remain banned.

The comment about wanting a Tim Cook is pretty wise. Just like Apple, you need a visionary… but visionaries often suck at the practical stuff. They should move on (well, maybe not as dramatically as Jobs did…), and let the more linear thinkers run things.

An executioner, Tim Cook-like is needed, not Elon.

Violent!

Musk has restored to Twitter the previously banned Mike Adams, proprietor of a far-right wing conspiracy-mongering website rivaling Alex Jones’ InfoWars for spreading toxic misinformation and hatred (with the added bonus of marketing overpriced and dubious supplements and prepper supplies for the coming Armageddon).

Adams is the guy who attacked pro-GMO journalists as “Monsanto Collaborators”, saying that they “have signed on to accelerate heinous crimes being committed against humanity under the false promise of ‘feeding the world’ with toxic GMOs…it is the moral right — and even the obligation — of human beings everywhere to actively plan and carry out the killing of those engaged in heinous crimes against humanity." Scientists supporting genetic modification technology were also targeted.

Adams later piously denied he was calling for vigilante violence.

Nice going, Elon!

(Satire)

Muskrat is going full Trump in saying that I was right to ban you for violating our terms (narrator voice: they didn’t) but will let you back because I want to (narrator voice: No, he didn’t), as long as you promise to never do it again OR ELSE (narrator voice: the thing they DIDN’T DO).

I wonder how long it would take to get banned if you show a map of the solar system, and share what planet he is on in real time.

How I wish the journalists would simply say “No thank you, we have no interest in returning to twitter and urge our collogues to leave as well.”

SPOILER: It’s not Mars. It will never be Mars.

Could be, per the Ely Cologne link earlier. Of course, that didn’t end well.

Well, no, of course.

I just like the idea of a map of the solar system, with an arrow pointing to Earth, saying “Elon Musk is here”, updated hourly, to rub that in.

Don’t take away my dream that Elon Musk and other billionaires will go to Mars!

Trapped in a burning Tesla in a traffic jam in a small tunnel under Las Vegas actually being far, far, more likely.

Or this one;

“His exact location in real-time”? Assuming this is a reference to the Elonjet thing, it wasn’t providing his location, but that of his (I think three) Gulfstream jets. (And by the way, what happened to the claims about not owning a house or other property?)

I have to concede his concerns are valid in a certain context. Someone once tweeted that if aliens ever invaded and demanded they be allowed to eat one celebrity, they’d give the aliens Adam Sandler’s address.

For some people, Elon’s got to be the top pick, so real-time data would be helpful for… them. Not me, of course.
