Now that Elon Musk has bought Twitter - now the Pit edition (Part 1)

These issues with Twitter, and his seemingly inexhaustible ego, are simply because he is too complex for us mere mortals to understand. Things look different when you’re a 20,000 feet in the air kind of person like Musk, and not detailed oriented. Ensuring that his tweets get seen isn’t just about ego. It is a genius move to help humanity get to Mars, we’re just to dull to see it. It is 37D chess.

Where is Sam lately anyway? He never did respond to me saying that I would accept any speech by Elon where he actually sounds like a genius. Perhaps he’s still searching.

Elon: “How can I make them like me?”
Elon: “I know, I’ll go to the super bowl with Rupert Murdoch!”

Thud

I know he’s busy with Twitter, but it seems as if other parts of the [emperor’s new clothes] empire needs his firm and steady genius.

If I did, I’d be worth 200BN

Did you say “recall”?

I mean, he’s right in this one specific circumstance. Using the same word to refer to anything from permanently scrapping a car due to unfixable mechanical issues all the way to pushing out a software update to fix a bug is imprecise and misleading and hits companies doing the right thing far harder.

Most car companies wouldn’t bother fixing minor things if it involved people going do a dealer to perform a physical firmware update so companies being proactive in pushing the fixes out over the air should be rewarded, not punished.

There have been enough Tesla recalls of the traditional kind where physical parts of the car had to be swapped that we shouldn’t need to use OTA updates as proof of their questionable build quality.

Well, ‘update’ might be right word. But since we’re taking about software, we are talking about its build and/or design quality.

I’m waiting for the inevitable twitter software update that will force users to tweet “Elon Musk is the best ever” at least once/day or be removed from the platform.

There’s also a reason this is a recall as opposed to a quietly pushed software update. Tesla has to play by the same rules as over other automaker that can do OTA software updates, which AIUI is most of them now. If it’s safety related, the recall is more about notifying owners than anything else.

Elon Musk is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I’ve ever known in my life.

You know, this app is so broken, new tweets so rarely coming, that I’ve dramatically reduced my use of it… & my mental state is just better.

Now there are external reasons for this improvement, true, but I’m coming to where I may delete Twitter and not find a replacement. Maybe… maybe I just don’t need to yell at people in my spare time any more.

The latest tweet on my phone screen was the same tweet for about half the day, a random one from a team I follow. Tablet and laptop updated fine.

Dear Twitter,

As I write this I am very sad. Our CEO has been overthrown and replaced by the benevolent Elon Musk. All Hail Musk, and his glorious regime!

Sincerely,
Little Girl

I’m going to assume the Musk tweets in the third panel are fake, because they actually contain some element of humor to them.

Another day. Another investigation into possible wrongdoing. Although I’m not quite sure I understand the basis for this one. Are they saying Musk’s tweets are political?

Wait until the Germans find out about all those messages from Tom from MySpace.
