Now that Elon Musk has bought Twitter - now the Pit edition (Part 1)

Ahh ‘sealioning’… an excuse for people who’ve painted themselves into a corner and blame the paint.

Sorry, didn’t mean to trigger you. I will repeat my factually correct observation, omitting the word you don’t like.

That assertion had already been addressed in the thread you linked.

…but it hasn’t? With the same effort it takes to find and post a link to a previous post you could, you know, actually follow through and read?

deja vu

Oh wait, cutting off automated public service tweets was a bad idea? Who could have known?

But it has, and you’ve simply retreated into falsely denying that your claims were effectively refuted. There’s not really anything anybody else can do about that.

Which is evidence that nate is much more invested in defending Musk from all comers than has been claimed.

Are you blind? That’s clearly two guys in panda suits.

Or they are little pandas in human suits within panda suits.

I remember sort of following that thread with only mild interest, and I just skimmed it again to get a sense of it. My sense of it is that you were arguing with literally every poster in the thread, and claiming, as you do here, to be uniquely in possession of correct information and completely immune to refutation, despite the occurrence of said refutation in that thread. Which thread, I also note, had to be closed as a lost cause. So I assume that your boundless admiration of Musk is based on certain traits you have in common with him, of which it seems that being a pompous ass may be the most prominent.

A trait shared with virtually all conspiracy theorists, which is why so many of them aren’t welcome here.

As someone who doesn’t particularly have interest in that thread, having this thread become a lot of “YOU LIED!” “DID NOT!” “DID TOO!” isn’t must-read MB. Either let sleeping bullshit lie, or else (less preferred) bring specific links to specific lies.

I’m still convinced it’s Musk himself in a nate suit.

Not enough :poop: emojis.

Connect the dots, sheeple: the SDMB is a part of the Straight Dope empire, which is owned by Sun-Times Media, which was purchased by WBEZ, which is a part of the NPR network, which is currently a target of Elno’s ire. So of course, there’s a Manchurian poster here with which the misanthrope can express their displeasure.

In case anyone was wondering, nationalpumpkinradio.com and .org have been snapped up, but the .net address may still be available.

Elmo has now hidden the ability to see which Sneetches paid for stars upon thars, so now nobody will know whether or not they need to auto-block @alphamale88 or @BuyDogecoinNow.

The article just says that some public agencies have been granted free access to the API to send public service announcements. It doesn’t sound completely fixed. Are the National Weather Service and New York’s MTA tweeting updates successfully?

The MTA tweeted yesterday that while it’s “happy” that Twitter “got the message” and “committed to making API access free for the MTA and other public sector agencies,” they wouldn’t necessarily be resuming automated tweets. Instead, MTA plans to assess their “options for service alerts going forward.”

And the article says it’s unclear whether smaller regional transit, weather, police, etc. will even have access.

At this point, I’d be worried about getting ‘after the fact’ bills for any usage at all.

I mean, the API seems fixed:

One of the most important use cases for the Twitter API has always been public utility. Verified gov or publicly owned services who tweet weather alerts, transport updates and emergency notifications may use the API, for these critical purposes, for free.

Whether they continue to choose to use the API, I don’t know.

Why bother to start using the API again, knowing a clown can take away your access for any reason at all? This is a guy that thinks you providing him with free content is a privilege he ought to charge you for. Why should anyone invest any effort into a product like that?
