If Twitter is now X, how come the links are still to twitter.com, and if I try clicking the https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1688994698608742403 link I get taken to a page telling me I have to make an account to log into Twitter, sorry ‘X’ to be able to view the page. The page on twitter.com. That is no longer Twitter. Only it is, I mean the http is literally twitter.com.
I’ve popped into the site to see just how bad it is and I noticed they no longer tell you that an ad is promoted.
I saw that Tom Selleck is trending. As always when a celebrity is trending, someone will post the Denzel Washington meme expressing relief that the person hasn’t died, but instead of relief that Tom isn’t dead, most are expressing relief that their parent DID NOT buy a reverse mortgage.
Some conservatives on Twitter, not being good at reading comprehension, have jumped on the “conservative” advertising option, claiming they are being oppressed by being held to different standards, because they don’t understand what “conservative”, in context, means.
Other conservatives, the ones that know how to read and know how to post hate speech, have decided they are being unfairly oppressed and censored because advertisers can choose not to have their ads placed next to their hate speech, claiming this will reduce their still largely imaginary ad share revenue. They mostly blame woke Linda Yaccinaro.
Having only started visiting Musk’s Twitter account a few weeks ago, I was a bit shocked and surprised to see how much he’s into nutty alt-right/hard-right/far-right stuff.
