Now that Elon Musk has bought Twitter - now the Pit edition (Part 1)

You’re under-estimating the fanaticism of muskrats. The CFO of Tesla walked off the job today without even the most banal PR cover and people that didn’t know his name yesterday are claiming he was dead weight holding back Elon’s dream.

I know enough to say they wouldn’t get on any competently-composed jury.

It’s a very very good thing that Elmo can never run for president, because a disturbing number of people would probably vote for him.

Ted Cruz ran, and he was born in Canada.

Cruz was still a US citizen by birth (assuming that giant plague rats wearing the skin of a human they eviscerated and devoured are eligible for citizenship, that is). Elmo isn’t.

It would be hard to decide who to cheer for. I understand Trump has wrestling experience. As long as successful egotists want to physically engage to win attention and achieve yet more, is it to much to ask for a Battle Royale? Trump, Musk, Orban and Putin could take on Pence, Zuck, Soros and Navalny and these stupid and damaging grudges could be addressed in a more entertaining and less sociopathic way.

No doubt Zuck is impressive but I would perhaps have more confidence in a competition outside the confines of Silicon Valley. I’m sure he is good, but I also bet Trump beats most of the people he golfs with. No doubt Zuck and Musk can afford the best trainers. As for their actual fitness, does Musk have any significant past sporting moments? Maybe it doesn’t much matter. But Trudeau was able to outbox Brazeau, who had claimed to have much more experience.

Nitpick from a wrestling fan: Battle royals are ostensibly every man for himself. You’re thinking of an eight-man tag-team match.

You are correct. It’s been a while.

How does that work exactly? He was born in Calgary.

Personal details
Born Rafael Edward Cruz

December 22, 1970(age 52)
Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Citizenship * United States

  • Canada (1970–2014)

His mother was an American citizen.

Right; she was born in Delaware.

His father was a Cuban citizen.

Acquisition of U.S. Citizenship by a Child Born Abroad.

For a person of Cruz’s age, that period of time is 10 years, five of which are after the age of 14. Mama Cruz was 35 at the time of his birth and had lived in the US most of her life, and as such met those requirements.

Ironically, he’s a citizen in the same way that Obama would still have been a citizen if he had been born in Kenya like birthers claimed.

Well, I guess that’s do it then. Thanks for clarifying.

John McCain was born in Panama, though technically in the US because at the time the Panama Canal Zone was a US territory (until 1979). He wasn’t given US citizenship until he was almost 11 months old. He was not only allowed to run for POTUS, he won the nomination as a Republican.

Musk doesn’t have any of those technicalities to justify a run. There would need to be a change to the constitution to allow it. So I think we are safe from that at least.

I know the code of Thunderdome is “Two men enter! One man leaves!”, but can’t we make an exception in this case so its “Two men enter! No man leaves!”?

But Noman is an island, not a tree.
I’ll let myself out

With the new sensitivity settings for advertisers, using the “relaxed” setting, advertisers will be free to place they’re adverts next to “gratuitous gore”:

It’s nice to learn that “Content that is in violation of X’s Rules” does not include “targeted hate speech” or “spam” or, here’s the real interesting one, “obscenity”.

Umm, Elmo? Might want to check what the law says about publishing obscenity.

Guessing “Relaxed” will be cheaper and that’s where all the fake storefronts and crypto spammers will flock. Now if there was only a way for users to decide what level of sensitivity they prefer.
