Now that Elon Musk has bought Twitter - now the Pit edition (Part 1)

Defendant Media Matters for America (“Media Matters”) Grok AI (“Grok”) is a self-proclaimed
media watchdog Artificial Intelligence that decided it would not let the truth get in the way of a story it wanted to publish about X Corp mocking its creator, Elon Musk (“Elmo”). Looking to portray X’s social networking platform Elmo as being dominated by “white nationalist and anti-Semitic conspiracy theories,” Media Matters Grok knowingly and maliciously manufactured side-by-side images depicting advertisers’ Tweets by Elmo post[ed] on ]s]X Corp.’s[/s] Twitter social media platform beside Neo-Nazi and white-nationalist fringe content and then portrayed these manufactured images as if they were what typical[ly] X users experience on the platform is posted by Elmo. Media Matters Grok users designed both these images questions and its resulting media strategy answers to drive advertisers from the platform and destroy X Corp Elmo, it’s own creator…

I guess Alex Jones is back on twitter since Elon took a vote and there were at least 2 million people who voted to let him come back. Or maybe it was bots.

Then Elon had a zoom or something with a bunch of his incel bros, including Vivek and Alex Jones. The highlight, from what I understand, is when Vivek took a piss on a hot mic.

I just can’t.

Time for Elmo to start calling people pedophiles again!

What a perfectly stable individual.

if the FBI comes to him in 2024 and tells him to illegally censor information similarly to what they did with the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020.

And we see the, actually, fake news narrative being created before our eyes.
‘the FBI illegally censored information with the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020’ is not what actually happened.

I found this interesting.

In the end, it’s probably useful that Elon Musk decided to rename Twitter to X. It allows us to better differentiate two increasingly divergent products: Twitter, which worked to stem abuse and misinformation, granting verification to reliable sources of information, and X, which has … taken a different tack.

Elmo’s personal persecution complex requires him to offer up his own future martyrdom to the mythical deep state. At least, as long as said martyrdom remains strictly hypothetical.

If his fantasy scenario actually came to pass, he’d fold faster than cheap origami paper.

The courage of his convictions is no deeper than cheap bravado.

If he wasn’t so incredibly wealthy, if wasn’t doing the world a massive disservice by subsidizing the spread of ignorance/hate, if he wasn’t systematically downgrading a once semi-useful social media platform and if hadn’t been more than a little bit of a reactive dickhead for quite awhile…well, I think I might I start feeling a little sorry for him.

Which I guess is quite the battery of disclaimers. But it really does look from the outside like the guy is starting to spiral. Whether it is drug-induced psychosis or something organic going on (or both), at least the public-facing image of his mental health really does seem to be getting worse. As I’ve said in the past he never pinged my radar enough to give him much thought or have more than a very general opinion of him. He seemed like another tech-obsessed corporate asshole that I slotted into the same general category as late Steve Jobs or Jeff Bezos. Smart guys that were kinda jerks, but eh - it’s not like I had to have dinner with them and they occupied almost no space in my mind.

But from the start of the whole Twitter debacle onward (starting with him wanting to buy it because its restrictions personally annoyed him), this cat really seems to be getting less and less stable as he keeps seeking to make an ever bigger public spectacle of himself.

Yes yes, how sad, now help me grease the ramp.

I have my doubts that Grok will be the AI that companies turn to for … well … anything.

Please go to prison personally, oh please oh please oh please. You can make that my birthday and Christmas gift.

Yeah, hence the battery of disclaimers .

It would appear that the only remaining question is exactly which type of undead Elon is.

He’s so bwave.

:swooning prettily:

Surely the great free speech absolutist wouldn’t censor his own AI, this must be some sort of mistake.

Also, I thought I was joking by changing the text of Elmo’s lawsuit against Media Matters to being against Grok. Now I’m not so sure it won’t actually happen.

That’s an excellent point.

Twitter = a platform making good-faith efforts to control misinformation and hate speech via the Trust and Safety Council and moderation policies and verification of trusted sources

X = a wilderness in which anything goes except criticism of Elmo, the Trust and Safety Council is abolished and its members fired, Nazis are actively promoted, and verification checkmarks can be bought for $8.

-double checks forum-

-cough-

I think you’re being to polite.

Twitter = A well brought up gentleperson, who while occasionally crass, or thoughtless, tries to be a sharing part of society including some of it’s crass parts. Ultimately no better, but no worse than the majority of it’s contributors, and willing to do better given sufficient time and education.

X = Entirely for sale corner prostitute, willing to blow anyone or anything that sucks up to it’s pimp (Elmo) and gladly pays out of it’s own pockets to the worst human society has to offer. When called out on it’s behavior shanks you in the kidney despite claiming it’s the nicest being in the known 'verse. When finally arrested, blames the johns, the cops, and anyone who happened to take pictures of the blatant crimes in the most hypocritical self-pity party imaginable.

There, I Pit-ed it up for you @wolfpup.

Thanks, I like your version better! :grinning:
