Now that Elon Musk has bought Twitter - now the Pit edition (Part 1)

I’m sure Sam will be along any minute to tell us that an outage like this is totally unrelated to having laid off the vast majority of the technical support staff and shredding the foundation of the platform and that it continues to be brilliant business to run the operation on a fragment of a shoestring.

And now, a comedy in four tweets;

I don’t twitter. But the Grok account doesn’t have the blue check and the same formatting. I hope it is a fake account that someone snatched up. Is it real? Or some clever guy/girl messing with Musk?

It has a yellow check but I’m not sure what that means. Hopefully a satire account.

Under the Elmo regime, “official” businesses/organizations get gold stars upon thars.

Err, checks, that is.

That is unfortunate. I was hoping for unending comedy excellence.

I mean, we have this post, which is great, and there is probably no end to the “Google bombing” opportunities.

Is he saying his own AI is woke?

That is some funny shit there! I guess Grok isn’t so based.

It’s worse than that, the whole internet is woke! Elmo’s AI has been infected by the woke mind virus because it was trained on the internet. I guess the only cure is for Elmo to abandon the internet to keep himself safe from infection.

Well, one can dream anyways.

More good news for Elmo - turns out that sometimes the wheels on Teslas just sorta fall off while in motion.

I know who Elmo should hire to do PR: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3m5qxZm_JqM

You know what Kenny Rogers said to his Tesla?

You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel!

I’ll show myself out.

:musical_note:Four hundred children took a crap in the field…:notes:

Guess I’m not the only one that grew up singing those alternative lyrics.

Or maybe this guy.

Elon, you have no good car ideas! Now you have to marry your mother-in-law!

The wheels on the Tesla go off on their own
Off on their own
Off on their own
The wheels on the Tesla go off on their own
All through the town

Elmo: Fuck Disney, we’ve got plenty of advertisers

The advertisers:

Aren’t community notes awesome? What other platform would allow users to directly confront and criticise advertisers by placing notes right under their ads?

I think it’s great. It may not translate into more advertising, but it’s a perfect example of how to set up a free speech system. Allow people to say anything they want, but create a crowd-sourced system to call out disinformation and lies.

I love community notes. My assumption is that he’ll eventually get rid of them because he’ll decide that woke interventions are hindering his free speech, it’s a wonderful world community.

Many major retailers, for one example – right on their own product pages.

What I’m seeing here, however, is not some utopian free speech paradise, but just the limited existing ability to comment on posts, which, with respect to advertising, may well become more restricted by our favourite drug-addled champion of both free speech and oblivious hypocrisy.

Wouldn’t it be simpler to just block scammers?

Sorry, free speech means letting anybody say whatever they want even if it’s with the intent to harm or defraud others.
