Not really. Read the article I posted right above. Also, listen to the related podcast.
And yes, it absolutely can be a digital leash for controlling spouses, children, etc. Not much chance to say no.

Yeah, that movement I would guess LOVES modern cars. No need to plant the trackers. Stalkers and assholes gonna stalk and be assholes, and they love modern tech to help them do so.
From a Governmental POV it hardly matters is there is any tracking in your car. We all put a feature complete tracking device in our pocket every time we leave our house (or go to the next room IN our house)
This doesn’t mean it is ok for car manufacturers to join in on the fun.

Great news: a judge has dismissed Musk’s SLAPP suit against the Center for Countering Digital Hate.
Musk recently announced X would be picking up a 300K legal bill for a Canadian doctor who hit back at critics of her fringe Covid positions with a multimillion dollar libel suit that also got tossed.
Elon just doesn’t get this free speech thing.
Much like your bogwater 12-year-old internet troll, Elmo’s understanding of freedom of speech boils down to “I can say whatever I want and NOBODY IS ALLOWED TO COMPLAIN ABOUT IT”.
That NBC article about the judge bodyslamming Musk’s suit has a couple choice quotes but is pretty brief.
Here’s a much longer analysis if you really want to roll around in the schadenfreude.
If I could interrupt with an FQ question, how is this judge involved? Last I knew, Musk had judge-shopped this case to Judge Reed O’Connor in the Northern District of Texas. Was it transfered to Judge Charles Breyer somehow?

After some research I think the answer is that these are two different cases.
Huh, so it looks like the Texas case is still proceeding. I don’t quite get how the case was filed in two separate courts.
What was dismissed today was X v. Center For Countering Digital Hate, from the Northern District of California.
Still in play in Texas is X v. Media Matters For America, filed in the Northern District of Texas.
Two separate cases.
This is 100% about him justifying his own refusal to wear condoms. “I’m saving civilization!” c’mon, we all know Little Elmo likes to feel the rain.
This, plus: “ok, maybe I don’t have friends or a girlfriend, but I got an employee pregnant as physical proof that I’m a sex-haver”
NVM, kind of hijackish
Much as I dislike Elmo, let’s face it, the richest man in the world isn’t going to have problems getting laid, even if he is Elmo. I mean he’s had 3 marriages and 11 children. The kinds of women willing to sleep with the richest man in the world might be a bit lacking in some areas themselves (think Amber Heard threesome), but plenty will.
God, I wish I could bleach my brain back to the day when I knew nothing of Elmo’s sex life.
And yet he had to try and bribe a flight attendant with a horse in exchange for a handy.
If I might hijack this thread about cell phone habits for a moment, here’s an article detailing the many ways Elmo’s “Democrats are importing brown people to vote for them” BS is, well, BS.
I realise Elon does not share this attitude, but actually what’s wrong with a great replacement? It seems a net positive for humanity if white supremacists become a tiny minority, or preferably extinct.
Personally, I’d rather live next door to a Mexican immigrant than a MAGA. The immigrant probably has better home cooking and listens to less annoying music.
Yes, this has been my view all along: GRT is tinfoilhattery, but given the people who espouse it I’m definitely onboard with them being “replaced”.
