Now that Elon Musk has bought Twitter - now the Pit edition (Part 1)

Who wants to explain to D_Anconia how average works?

:ninja:

Not $30k, though. Even a single person couldn’t live on $30K in San Francisco.

The point is, paycheques are bouncing due to incompetence, and this is A Bad Thing. Just face facts and stop making excuses

A major employer bouncing paycheques is on life support.

Like they can’t transfer funds from their interest-bearing account into their checking account with the click of a button.

After the fact? With time travel? I guess every employee should have pre-emptively known that Elon would probably screw them out of their pay.

You realize that Mr. Musk doesn’t cut payroll checks himself, right?

Do you think the janitor is getting $118k? The cafeteria cooks? The guy who checks security badges at the door? The guy who sorts incoming mail? The HVAC guy? The lady who answers the phone when someone presses 6 to reach Accounts Payable? The runner who fetches Elon’s Caffeine-Free Diet Coke when he’s pretending to analyze screenshots of code at 1 AM?

I had been looking forward to this thread being reopened, and now it’s completely derailed. Who gives a flying fuck if some troll thinks everyone has 6 months cushion in their checking account? Quit wrestling with the pig.

You realize that Musk himself fucked up the entire payroll department, right?

No. But most of those jobs are likely outsourced to other companies, anyway. A food service provider, a janitorial company, a security firm, etc. Those employees are being paid on-time, aren’t they? Unless you have evidence otherwise.

Are the janitors still being paid by their employer? Y/N?

Ah, so it’s OK that the richest man in the world is refusing to pay for services rendered, because the vendors he scammed can afford to eat the loss.

I preferred the version of you who refused to acknowledge anything that happened on Twitter.

Did I say that? No. People are making silly claims without evidence. Such as stating that there are Twitter employees who only make $30K a year. Find one.

The average salary for customer service and admin employees at Twitter is under $50k.

Some employees in Third World countries are paid as little as $15k.

Your right SF is frigging expensive. In order to keep your head above water you are going to need to earn substantially more than $30K. In fact someone earning $50K-$60K could easily be living hand to mouth. Say, for example, a median level twitter employee (median salaries are always well below average salaries), who just had their paycheck canceled. QED

(thanks for the self own).

$50K is 2/3 higher than the $30k that was asserted. Exaggeration much?

And $15k is half as much, notwithstanding that you’ve once again chosen to ignore the meaning of the word “average”.

What is the average salary at Twitter? Cite please. Oh wait, it’s $118K.
