Now that Elon Musk has bought Twitter - now the Pit edition (Part 2)

From the original article cited by the one in your post:

Used Cybertruck prices are down 55% year over year, 13% over the last three months, and 6% over the last month.

As Tesla doesn’t take the Cybertruck as a trade-in, other used car dealers are also reticent about buying the vehicle. They have been known to give low-ball offers to potential sellers as they wait to see where the price will stabilize.

Elmo attempted to prove that he is in fact a 1337 gamer who doesn’t pay people to play for him by livestreaming Path of Exile 2 from his private jet.

He died to the tutorial boss while viewers spammed the livechat with insults, then he deleted the stream.

Ouch.

We’re all ignoring the positional gain, though.

Anybody help me with this? I have not the faintest idea about gaming.

A ‘boss’ is a very hard baddie, generally found at the end of a level and/or game.

The tutorial is a generally very easy game mode, where you learn the controls and other mechanics. An experienced player losing to the tutorial boss would be like a Navy Seal being taken out by deputy Fife from the Andy Griffith show.

Thanks!

To introduce players to a new game, most modern games (anything in the last decade certainly) will have a short introductory section to familiarize them with the controls, movement, actions, etc.

Basically, everything you need to know and that used to be written in an instruction manual but is now done in-game.

It’s not meant to be difficult. It’s really meant to be an accessible way to introduce players to a new game so they don’t feel overwhelmed. Some games will have a ‘boss’ to defeat at the end of this tutorial section. Again, not usually supposed to be very difficult, though maybe an inexperienced gamer could still lose.

A supposed ‘elite’ high end gamer shouldn’t have trouble with that whole section. It’s like bragging about what a great driver you are and proving it by running into somebody’s fence.

Excellent!. Ignorance fought.

What’s telling here is that this guy is so arrogant he not only assumes he can do a new thing well, but that he live-streams it to show it’s true. And he fails the minimal test, and will have some reason for it (lag, jet lag ,whatever).

To add to this, I’ve been informed that all you need to do in POE2 to mute incoming chats is type /dnd (I.e. do not disturb) into the chat window. He didn’t even know enough about how the game works to stop people from trolling him.

Eh. I’d probably have to look up how to shut up chat as well on most games. That’s not something many gamers would know.

But if it were me, I’d probably open up Google and look it up. But I wouldn’t think there was any shame in that, even on a livestream. And that’s what marks him - he’s not the sort that can even admit to not knowing something innocuous like that

You have just witnessed a livestreamed demonstration of the Dunning-Kruger effect.

Perhaps, but you’re not claiming to be the greatest video game player on the planet of the last 30 years.

A supercharger station in my town was bombed late last night.

Ha ha, loser.

My daughter’s boyfriend works at CarMax and I asked him today what’s up with Teslas - he said they have half a dozen on the lot & they haven’t sold one in a couple of months.

Mind you, this is Massachusetts, so no big surprise, but still.

Double loser.

Yeah. When the people who mostly successfully babysit trump all day start complaining about musk being difficult, you gotta know he’s a really ginormous hunk of concentrated assholicness.

He’s been like this for years, too. Go back and look at his SNL hosting appearance, and it’s clear he urgently wants to be seen as a Cool Funny Kid but he has zero ability to carry that off; every moment he’s on screen, his desperate seeking of validation combined with his total lack of charisma creates an aura of peak cringe. He’s fundamentally that one high school dweeb we all knew who incessantly repeated Monty Python punchlines because he craved attention and approval but had no other form of social currency. The only difference is that he’s acquired many billions of dollars and now people are forced to listen to him.
