There are credible allegations that, way back in the 1990’s, Musk worked while he was here on a student visa.
Do you think Trump will deport him?

If he did, it’d be largely symbolic, not practical.
I’ve been of the mind that they decided to perform this little skit for the purpose you mention and for others—Trump likes being considered a Playa for his ‘adventures’ with teenagers, but he couldn’t exactly release the Epstein files himself. And Musk likes being the sole focus of attention of a President—look at me what an important guy I am!
It seems to me that in this “feud” neither has posted anything actually damaging. (As if Donald cares that his old Tweets contradict his current policies…are you kidding???)
But I could be wrong.
So my test is: if Donald sends each and every one of the DOGE kids packing, that’s strong evidence that the feud is real. (Elon doesn’t really need them to stay where they are—he’s already installed all the back doors into the government computers—but it would be convenient in some ways to have them there.)
But if Donald leaves the DOGE kids in place, that’s strong evidence that the feud is pure theater—likely intended to distract us from something. The awfulness of the Big Ugly Bill, perhaps, or Melania filing for divorce, or some other story Donald would prefer get ignored.
We shall see.
I’m thinking of him deadpanning “Stop.Don’t. Come back.”
One thing I expect Elon is smart about is arranging for “if something happens to me” insurance.
Even if my conspiracy theory (that she’s on Russia’s payroll) is incorrect, divorce seems unlikely. If she hasn’t divorced him by now, she clearly is in it for the long haul, i.e. inheriting his assets upon his demise from natural causes.
Nuthin’ natural about that many lifetime hamberders.
That’s a good argument. I admit to having been somewhat challenged by the need to come up with Things Donald Feels He Needs To Distract Us From Seeing. What he’s freely let us see has been…pretty horrific.
I mean, if he’d sent the Marines to take over every blue-state governor’s mansion + legislature, we’d have learned of it by now. So that’s not what he’s distracting us from…
He likes to be considered a beach?
He’s most totally a steenkin’ lettal beach!
My view is that’s just not something he cares about. He can bluster his way past anything well enough to convince himself. And that is the only audience he really cares about.
There’s still enough of a propaganda machine telling his true believers only the hagiographic news. And he doesn’t care what the non-base thinks.
OMG! I was going to post earlier that this was like a grade school slap fight! Love it and the popcorn. AI even got his stubby, short fingers correct.
Here’s a gift link to The NY Times live update ticker on the break-up.
My ideal ending: Elmo pulls the MAGA “but what if we just don’t” card when compelled by TFG. Then pulls a Joker by setting the Dragon and all copies of its design on fire just to watch it burn. TFG has ICE arrest him and illegally deport him to a prison in El Salvador while defying a Supreme Court order that the plane carrying him turn around in flight.
So Trump wins? There needs to be something after “Musk is kidnapped and sent to a foreign prison” to equal out the damage.
Musk offers a $1 billion bounty for Trump’s head.
BREAKING:
[Ukrainian] President Zelenskyy has offered to negotiate a peace deal between Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
“I know Trump well. I know Musk well. I would get that war ended in a period of 24 hours. One hundred per cent, it would be easy. That deal would be easy.” [/Ukrainian]
/s
That would be a wicked burn if he really said something like that. Well done!
But Zelenskyy is not a petulant child; he’s a real adult leader.
True. But I’m sure Mr. Miller et al have more [strike]sadistic[/strike] sophisticated measures in mind…
Use the abbreviated “s” tags for strikethrough, like <s>this</s>. There’s also “del” tags for delete, like <del>this</del>, but that adds the unsightly red background.
