Now that Elon Musk has bought Twitter - now the Pit edition (Part 2)

Not a particularly good one either.

You do realize that the article is talking about a fictional city in a series of fictional books that most people around here recognized instantly? Inhabited by fictional people?

I don’t have any idea what city, books or people you are referring to. I’m not even sure which article you’re talking about. If it’s the most recent one posted, there is nothing in that article that talks about a city, fictional or otherwise.

It does claim to take place in Boca Chica, Texas, but that’s a real place (though not a city). It’s the location of the “Starbase” facility of SpaceX.

Silenus was talking about the second link on retrophrenology, which is a Discworld thing.

Right. Did someone think I was being serious? I kind of thought that since this is the pit and all, a mild joke about ways to adjust Elon’s attitude, playing off of Smapti’s link about phrenology and Musk was in order.

Sorry if I was unclear.

LOL, I knew your link was a joke.

Silenus didn’t reply to a specific post which was why that comment was so confusing I guess.

Technically those are recycle bins since they’re from the Windows OS, the trash is found in the Mac OS.

Well, granted, the Windows Trash icon looked more like this:

Ha! :+1:

And let’s add Foundation to the list of sci-fi classics Elmo doesn’t understand.

Leon should be granted the title President of Mars, with a generous, 30-year term of office (residency required.)

With Trump in charge of efficiency.

No, CFSG in charge of the oxygen supply.

[obvious joke about him sucking it all up goes here]

Holy moly, my brother posted a message about Elon Musk being made Secretaries of Energy, Transportation and Commerce and solving the climate crisis and “gasoline crisis” ($5+/galllon in California) in one fell swoop by some genius plan we mortals cannot foresee.

I thought he was joking.

He was not. He’s looking forward to a Trump administration where geniuses like Musk and Thiel will be given vast briefs over multiple departments, destroy all the bureaucracy and unleash the genius of high tech and the free market on Energy, Education, Healthcare, Infrastructure, you name it.

The “common sense genius” thinks that Atlas Shrugged is a prescription.

Guess where my brother is employed? He’s a federal government (military) contractor and his wife is a federal government employee.

Shrugitol?
