Now that Elon Musk has bought Twitter - now the Pit edition (Part 2)

Sure, the FBI frowns on those acts… when committed by non-billionaires.

I have a feeling that Elmo gets a complete pass—and that this would be true even if the federal government weren’t so tied up with his businesses.

(Those astronauts will never get home if Elmo is expected to conduct himself in a non-outrageous way. But even if the government didn’t need Spacex and Starlink, Elmo would still be able to call for the assassination of politicians without facing any consequences whatsoever, just because he’s rich.)

All I know is that I would hate to be a staff lawyer at any of his many companies which depend on the good grades of the federal bureaucracy, or his personal counsel. Because there isn’t enough retainer pay in the known universe worth having to babysit that.

:face_with_raised_eyebrow: He’s a perpetually online tech genius, and he’s only JUST NOW learned this?

Musk lives in the finest bubble money can buy.

Indeed;

My brother in Christ. You are a nepo baby with national defense contracts, your own social media network, and you are literally one of the richest people to ever live. You are the Machine, dumbass.

When you’re a stable genius ubermensch, it’s hard to act like a normal schlub (or care what they think “normal” is).

He’s just Elon From The Block.

He’s so gross. I saw a tweet from the FBI this morning. It’s no doubt fake, but it stated " Unlike his kids, we will be visiting him".

The world is a weird place, antibob, and I suspect there are women who want very badly to be with that “visionary genius” even if he doesn’t throw a dime their way.

As I said “the short term”.

There’s has yet to be any woman, including among his own children, who could stand to be near him for very long after actually getting to know him. Or at least any that did not work for him.

So, I’ll stand by my statement until there is any evidence to the contrary.

Re: This “Elmo” shit

If you draw some kind of pleasure from calling someone names behind their back, I believe that your opinions can be readily dismissed, and will just skip to the next post.

If I wanted petty juvenile bullshit I’d be on Reddit.

I’d call Elmo that to his face, but he never stops by. The fink.

Anything I’ve ever said here, I’d say to his face.

Actually, I’d probably have a very hard time controlling my temper to not say worse things to his face. As a woman, I found his tweet about Taylor to be utterly disgusting.

Thank you for your insightful and undoubtedly very helpful observation. I might mention that some other nitwit made exactly the same observation around a year ago. Nobody gave a shit then and nobody gives a shit now. No one is under the impression that “Elmo” is any sort of brilliant takedown. It’s just a sort of entrenched tradition here. If you don’t like it, please feel free to fuck right off.

Please do feel free to skip over any posts that use the name “Elmo”, which is darn near most of them. Or better still, do yourself and the rest of us a big favor, and take your pompous moralizing someplace else.

I kinda agree. We should all address him by his given name. Leon.

Come on. You’ve supposedly been here since 2002. You know what the Pit is for. “Elmo” is probably one of the tamest insults this place uses. Acting all offended and trying to shame people for it is ridiculous.

If you will dismiss the cited claims in a post because of a single word, that’s on you. This is a thread to vent, not a thread to convince some random Musk supporter.

Like Reddit.

Just in case you weren’t aware, the nickname was not something that board members came up with. It was a nickname that his own employees at Twitter chose for him, and that info leaked on social media, so it was adopted by some people here as well.

I am also generally not a big fan of grade school playground insult nicknames either, but at least this one has a history to it.

Oh, I’d call him much worse to his face if I had the opportunity.

I’m sure that, properly chastised, going forward we will all be careful to police our posts to assure that Randolph doesn’t skip over them. Else how would be bear the disappointment?
