I’m going to assume they’re Trump supporters, because that’s what driving a Tesla means in 2025. Beating Elon means making Tesla ownership unacceptable.
So, you’re going to recompense each of them, right? Personally give them more money than you can really afford to buy them all new cars and tags and such?
'Cause that would be the right thing to do. Not the easy thing, but certainly the right thing to do.
I didn’t sell them the swastikars. What kind of psycho needs to be paid in order to stop being a Nazi?
Regular Teslas weren’t swasitkars when they were bought buy forward thinking eco friendly (well heeled) liberals. They were just good, albeit expensive, electric cars.
How’s the view from up there?
Anyone who puts one of those “I bought this before I knew he was crazy” sticker on their car also gets a pass. It’s not like selling the car is the only option.
But at this point, not selling your Tesla is almost becoming a more financially irresponsible decision than selling it with how quickly prices in the used market are tanking.
The past is gone. They’re swastikars now. Driving one is either an endorsement of Adolf Tesler, or a sign of indifference. Neither is a laudable quality.
Until the Nazis realize they can just slap one of those on their car and pass for a decent member of society.
I have no sympathy for anyone driving a Tesla.
My elderly father bought the Tesla in the before times. Please don’t vandalize his car because of your assumptions about his politics: he reliably votes D & loathes Trump & Musk.
It’s his last car. Let him enjoy it.
I don’t plan on vandalizing anyone’s cars, but I can’t speak for the propagandists-of-the-deed out there.
In other news, Mark Kelly has ditched his Tesler after Hair-Plug Hitler called him a traitor.
So has Sheryl Crow;
So has Cassandra Peterson, more commonly known as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.
Bwahahahaha, pull the other one, it has bells on it. Plus, call me when it doesn’t blow up.
Real easy for fatcat celebrities & politicians to decide to throw away WAG $50K on the feel-good gesture of ditching their Tesla. Even better since their occupation involves being a public persona and they will probably profit in dollars from the improved publicity as much or more than they lost dumping their Tesla.
Elmo’s trying to juice his stock.
Time to bring out this again;
What he failed to mention is that he meant Bruno Mars.
More effective, I suspect: peaceful protest at Tesla dealerships. Today was #TeslaTakedown day. One report:
Personal note: the other day I was driving my non-Tesla and a Tesla pulled out in front of me very abruptly from the left, in a construction zone. I assigned “typical arrogance” to this conduct, then noticed the plate was an Ontario one.
And wondered if there’s some kind of market in faked Canadian plates, to head off vandalism…
JP Morgan expects Tesla to drop another 50%.

How far can Tesla stock drop before the lenders who’ve loaned billions to Musk for his various companies get nervous enough to start calling their loans? Elsewhere I read a long analysis whose essence was Tesla is so grossly overvalued (meme stock level) related to its P/E ratio (112.1)* that if the stock value went down to a P/E ratio comparable to, for example, Toyota’s (8.91) it could trigger an implosion of Musk’s entire empire, inflated as it is so much by vaporware (e.g., Cybercab).
- Average P/E ratio over the last five years: 229.65.
I mean, there’s a reason anecdotes aren’t data. (I don’t necessarily disagree with your second point, but just want to throw some facts in the mix):
This is from an article dated 2022:
This comforms with my observation, which finds ownership split about even between conservative and liberal car buyers. The main commonality among the Tesla owners I know is wealthier people who enjoy technology. There was a time a good while ago where it was more people with environmental concerns, but that time has passed.
