Sorry, but for me, screen nudity doesn’t count unless you know it’s there - no “you can sort of see what might be a nipple if you freeze frame the shot and look closely”. It can be brief - Katie Holmes in The Gift or Meryl Streep in Silkwood count even if their nude scenes were literally flashes.
You know what would be a good idea for a website? One that listed the movies in which you could find specific actresses’ nude scenes. My buddies and I could get rich.
Janel Moloney, who played Donna Moss on The West Wing, hadn’t done anything until this week’s episode of Brotherhood. It was brief, but pretty hot.

Katie Holmes’ scene was more than a flash. It might have been brief, but it wasn’t just a tease.
I was under the impression that while Natalie Portman was nude, you couldn’t actually see anything. Maybe a little butt shot. And I’m not sure that counts.
I’m also not sure if it counts since it’s a short film that the majority of us would never see were it not for an Internet leak.

I believe he’s referring to the guys in **Knocked Up ** who have just this idea, but realize it already exists. Katherine Heigl gets drawn in and starts vetting movies for them. Speaking of someone who always keeps her bra on.
When she was like 14 or so she was in some movie as Gerard Depardieu’s daughter, and there’s a shot of her ass in a thong bikini that while not a nude scene, was definitely…interesting, and a bit surprising, considering her age.
Indeed, I have that scene somewhere on a disc. Quite surprising. I enjoyed it quite a bit until I realized she was… quite young. Gah.
I may be an ephebophile, but that was pushing it.
Granted, the whole plot of the movie seems to be Depardieu’s attempts to get his astonishingly nubile daughter to keep covered up and such.
Good thing it wasn’t one of his French Going Places era films, or he’d probably have been hot for her.

If you go see The Darjeeling Limited in theaters now, you’ll see Hotel Chevalier as a bonus (this wasn’t true when the Wes Anderson feature first opened).
I think her nudity definitely counts. She is stripped completely bare from the waist down (so we see her from behind), and she’s seen completely naked later, with some strategic knees/elbows hiding frontal nudity, but her butt still clearly visible.
You might also find the Celebrity Nudity Database (cndb dot com) handy as well…
Yup, I’d say that doesn’t count at all. As soon as you pull out the strategically placed knees/elbows/arms, it’s not “real” screen nudity.
Of course, there are all sorts of “candid” shots of her topless, for those who are interested. She just hasn’t bared it all “on screen” yet.
I don’t understand that at all. Natalie Portman can’t seem to step foot on a European beach without ripping all of her clothes off but as soon as an interviewer asks her about on screen nudity she practically bursts into tears.
A bare ass is a bare ass. It may not be what you’re crossing your fingers for, but she’s still naked and something private is on display.
Scarlett is the Holy Grail of on-screen nudity. She actually wanted to go topless for a scene in The Island, but Michael F’ing Bay wouldn’t let her.
She’s the only actress who could make me see a movie on opening night just for the opportunity to see her take off some clothes.
That said, Ellis Dee, I agree with all your other suggestions, aside from Anna Paquin. She just doesn’t do it for me.
