NPR and the quarantine. The thing that's bugging the crap out of me. Irrationally, perhaps.

Wasn’t sure whether this should go in MPSIMS (because it* is* mundane and pointless) or here because it involves radio broadcasts.
So, now most people that are interviewed on public radio are at their homes and being interviewed via phone or internet. Cool. So when the dog woofs in the background or a kid makes a noise, don’t stop the interview to remind everyone about “these difficult times”. Just keep talking! We all get it. In peoples homes there is the occasional background noise. I’m not talking about persistent disruptive noise. The other day there were birds chirping in the background that I hadn’t even noticed and the host saw fit to bring the topic at hand to a screeching halt and the interviewee apologized and closed the window! Unless it’s really a problem, just keep going.

Maybe it’s just me but I feel better now.
