People like you are wrong so much it is funny, have no impact. Name calling is what you do in a demonstration of your maturity.
You have been proven wrong in this and oh so many other threads ,that it is a joke. XT and comedy relief. Have someone point out for you how every step of the way, you have been utterly wrong. But you will never see it. Name calling and insults are the currency of those bereft of ideas. Why should I be bothered by that? I just give you the facts and you twist and fabricate. You are entrenched in old ideas . You will bend and grasp to defend your opinions in a cloud of radioactivity. You fight to the last mutation ignoring permanent radioactive scars as just doing business.
A true believer will react with violence and insults when their religion is challenged.
I guess I have to adapt. We have discussions about a multiple nuclear meltdown and the way to win is call names and insult. Our problem is we were raised with manners. Being an insulting jerk and calling people names when the disagree with you is the way to win. rather than discuss the radioactive water and containment explosions bathing the Japanese countryside, We should be talking about little people who immaturely call those they disagree with names.
So when Xt presents an argument, i should respond you are stupid and ignorant. Here are other posters saying you are stupid and ignorant, The thread is won.
Only I still will not, It is so rude and not responsive to the discussion.
That is a lot a becquerels.
Anyway, all the insults hurled by the pro-nukies were the death throws of belief in the safety of corporate run nuclear power when it meets the good old laws of thermodynamics and mother nature. China might actually have nuclear reactors in the future, but no democracy is ever going to green light another one.
Censorship of bad news will now be considered by the Japanese government. I suppose that censorship of the censorship will be next. It’s double plus good!
It’s extremely fucked up.
I just said that when affirmations are bullshit they have to be called as such.

BTW many reports pointed that early on the plant reported 10,000 terabequerels per day (By April 11, now they are down), and more BTW: I’m already on the record saying that I have no faith on corporations controlling nuclear power, I prefer the French model, but as many in the US see that as socialism I have enough realism on me to see that it will be tough to see progress in the USA. But as I also saw that France is not shying away from new construction and most of the reports in other countries mention delays and reviews but not suspensions, I would have to say it is more likely for nuclear power to continue progressing elsewhere.
Thats nice. i don’t share that optimism. I know they will cut corners over and over. Why, because they always have. They will corrupt any regulation. Why, because they always have. They will get politicians to allow them to do what they want. Because they always do.
japan is having anti nuke demonstrations. Germany is bailing on the nukes. There is plenty of resistance to nukes. The NIMBYs will stop every plant and I won’t blame them. It is a huge waste of money and is dangerous.
Uh, I said I’m not optimistic for nuclear power in the USA, but I also have to say that econimically speaking the problems will likely improve the outlook for solar and wind power.
And I also said before that many heads should roll for the corners cut in the japan case, by this time many would notice that indeed most of what you have said was based on setting up straw men, but me and most of the common sense readers have stopped to count all of them.
What I believe is that once the real price that will be paid by using more coal as a result, and the increase in energy prices due to the phase out of nuclear power in Germany becomes real to Germans, then I expect that most of that fear to go away.
I do not defend big coal. They are what corruption and well placed friends will allow you to create. They are defiantly dirty. They use their political connections to avoid maintaining their plants and cleaning them up. It is cheaper.
For some reason you think nuke is different. I don’t know why after their history of cover ups and lies.
Put government and college scientists in charge and i might have a softer stance. You have to take the profit motive out so the end game is doing a good job of creating clean energy safely. But as long as more money can be made by cutting corners, bribing regulators and paying off politicians, it won’t be safe enough. Greed is not good.
Coal is terribly dirty. How much effort , money and political power is stressing them to clean up. Somewhere near zero. But somehow nuke will be different?
So, when are you going to start blowing up nuke plants?
Well, profit motive is holy writ to these people. They worship profits, and if profits kill people, well, then that is just unavoidable.
OoohHH, BOoooogy boooogy! Someone is making money on services they sell. The end of the world is nigh.
Do you even listen to yourself?
I have nothing against profit in the abstract. But I object strongly when profit is used to cut safety, especially when safety of people not engaged in profit is at stake. And then again even more when those strangers to that profit are hurt and damaged by people who refuse to take full moral and financial responsibility for fixing the damage they cause those strangers. At no point in this catastrophe has GE, TEPCO or the Japanese Government taken responsibility for their piss poor planning and inadequate safety measures. They lack the basic human decency of saying they are sorry because that will interfere with their profits. In my business when I make a mistake I must take full financial responsibility. I make damn sure not to take on more responsibility than I can accept. But the risk takers here took risks only with the lives, property and livelihoods of others.
You have advocated for nuclear power here, yet take zero moral responsibility for the property lost and the cancers now at risk. Have you no conscience at all? Do you truly feel no responsibility that your “party” has contributed to all this damage? Maybe one little iota of human conscience that you’ve backed this monster?
THe AP 1000 is the newest Westinghouse reactor that is being built in China. It has a huge water tank on top that will use gravity in a power shut down to keep the rods wet for 3 days. .That sounds good until you realize that would not have been enough in Japan.
The reactors that are causing trouble were never advertised as of poor quality or dangerous. They were supposed to be the frontrunners of technology and safe as mothers milk. Trust us ,nothing can go wrong. Well it did, but now we are so much better. Then when these blow up, it was obsolete, we have so much better now. OK.
Technology fails teaching us lessons for new designs. That is party of the learning process. But in nuclear plants, the lessons are way too expensive. The price is too high to pay.
I have? Please indicate where I suggested that those responsible should not pay up? You are the one acting irresponsibly suggesting that people should have chosen to live in mud huts rather than have affordable electricity.
You can at any time you like say that those responsible under the law pay the damaged in full and those that are morally responsible make moral restitution. I haven’t seen any post of yours that says that. You say that you haven’t said they shouldn’t. What I’ve accused you of is that you have refused to affirmatively hold all of those responsible.
I’ve reviewed every post you have made in this thread, and I find no posts for holding the people who made these mistakes responsible. Instead I find shit like this:
After reviewing every last post you have made in this thread, the only comments you have made approaching who should bear for the consequences for this disaster are above. The general mood of these is: tough shit hurt peasants. Maybe you would like to clarify your position, but your posts make you look like a sociopath.
You are an utter moron. The people responsible are not just the companies who make an item, but the people who buy the item. Who benefits from affordable electricity? Those peasants you refer to. They elect politicians who are supposed to ensure the company follows the rules and regulations they have put in place. If the ignorant peasant sits there enjoying his latest episode of ‘Survivor’ (or the Japanese equivalent), without thinking about the consequences, then he is partly responsible for his fate. It doesn’t mean financially, but the whole process is a loop. No party exists in isolation. The company can only be as ‘evil’, or profit seeking as you, the people let them be. But you seem to forget, or ignore, that the people who run the companies are PEOPLE, too. They are usually no more evil than the guy sitting watching his Japanese survivor.
You seem to think that companies are run by Martians.
Oh, you’re trolling. Got it.
