A hand-lettered sign by the side of the road, here in Elkhart, Indiana said
“NUDE
BARN CAT.” That’s just odd. I guess “well-dressed barn cat” might have been stranger. Why would somebody put up a sign to say that?
Are they giving away a hairless cat? And they called it nude instead?
Sounds like a good band name.
Maybe they’re having a barn dance and that’s the music talent.

Was it all in the same handwriting/implement? I’m wondering if the sign originally read “nude bar” (yeah, I know, that’s weird enough for a hand-lettered sign such as described) and someone thought it would be funny to add to it.
Maybe the cat has mange.
It’s poorly worded. It’s the Nude Barn, where people can go hang out with other naked animals. And warning you about the Cat. Probably because it likes pouncing at tender bits.

No, the “nude barn” is an unadorned barn. No paint, signage, etc. But it has a cat.

Oops! It turns out I mis-heard my wife when she told me about the sign we had just passed. It actually said, “NEUTERED BARN CATS.” Much less newsworthy. Gotta get my hearing checked again.

I thought a “Nude Barn Cat” might have been a Sphynx cat that was born in a barn:

Right up there with “Karaoke”. I actually went to hear them play at one of our local bars one night, and, boy howdy, they couldn’t sing worth a damn!
