Frances McDormand in Laurel Canyon. It’s a jarring jump from a pregnant, small-town sheriff in Fargo to an aging hippie who flashes the band when she isn’t spreading her legs.
She’s a great actress to have that range, but don’t rent the movie just to see her tits. :eek:
Three leaped immediately to mind. The first two, already mentioned, were Julie Andrews and Kathy Bates. The third: Emma Thompson in The Tall Guy.
(By the way, I just saw About Schmidt this past weekend, and I wasn’t looking forward to the big nude scene because I feared it would be little more than gratuitous degradation of an actress for whom I have great respect, but I was relieved to see that the nudity was brief, well-staged and…well…I thought she looked just lovely.)

I suppose since I was used to seeing these actresses mainly on network TV, that’s what made it a surprising - its not like either one had anything to be ashamed of.
Anyway, these were relatively mild topless scenes. I wonder what would happen if a TV series actress, while under contract, did a film with some explicit naked grinding? Didn’t Lisa Bonet get booted from the “Cosby Show” for that reason?

Julianne Moore? Oh, yes. In the Robert Altman movie Short Cuts her character takes off a skirt to iron it, and her husband is upset that she has no panties on. She irons the skirt bottomless while they argue. Altman wanted to use nudity realistically.
This scene is evidence for my contention that redhaired actresses are more likely than blondes or brunettes to do full-frontal nudity. (I’m talking about respected mainstream actresses.) Consider (in alphabetical order):

Helen Mirren when younger did a full nude scene I’ve see stills of -I was astounded by her big beautiful natural rack and curvy body, as I had only seen her as an older, somewhat frumpy detective in “Prime Suspect”.
