nuh nuh nuh nuh... nuh nuh nuh nuh... Elmo's World

Thanks for the earworm.

Have you ever seen “The Hoobs” The Hoobs - Wikipedia

Oh God, yes to all of this. Mine went through a phase of these absolutely horrible nursery rhymes or songs (“Brother finger, brother finger…”) from various overseas locations. The worst was “Johnny, Johnny” in an angry Arabic voice…
“Johnny Johnny!!” “Yes poppa?” “EATING SUGAR?” “No poppa!” “ARE YOU LYING??” “Yes, poppa!” “HA HA HA HA HA!!!

And the friggin’ egg openings and toy unboxings. All with some guy in a knockoff Spider-Man costume because… ?

Peppa Pig is fine. Real Peppa Pig, produced by the Peppa Pig people. But then there’s a thousand bizarre knock-off involving Peppa Pig and Spider-Man or Marvel heroes or who knows what with horrendous animation and voices. And these come up as suggested viewing so he’d watch a legitimate Peppa Pig episode and then wind up in Russian Peppa Pig bootleg hell. There was nothing offensive about them (aside from the trademark theft and production values) so I hated to be like “No” if he wanted to watch it but… yeesh.

The worst are the Frozen games with disgusting subject matter such as pregnancy or brain surgery.

Reading Rainbow was a good show. You never saw LeVar Burton (Geordi on TNG) do anything freaky to anybody or anything. He just read stories… promotes reading, that’s what it’s all about. He doesn’t tell jokes to a talking toilet unlike Pee-Wee’s Crack… oops I mean "Play"house.

Zooblie Zoo was another good show. But Ben Veren didn’t go around acting like he was on any crack.

You don’t see him pop up at some random school and start hugging kids and singing “I Love You” to them.

As a librarian who has worked with kids for decades I have come into frequent contact with Max and Ruby. Ruby is the prototypical bossy older sister; I have always maintained that Max needs a good butt whuppin’.

My husband works with a guy that has a two year old. He was just saying the other day how that Caillou bastard drives him crazy, we have a teenager and my husband remembered the pain.

My husband still reminds our teen sometime that Barney was forbidden in our house. She was 2 or 3 when the toy, Tickle Me Elmo, came out and we got her one for her birthday. We turned it on, it started moving, and it freaked her out. She climbed up on the couch and sat there all day. Are the Teletubbies still on? Everytime that was on, which we tried to make rarely, I felt like I was doing psychedelic drugs.

I watched Caillou a few times. Yeah… the funding credit sequence was the only thing that scared me for some reason…

I love Boohbah and Blue’s Clues (the ones with Steve) and I’m fifteen. I watch Cowboy Bebop and I’m still going around singing “We are looking for Blue’s Clues!!!”?

I introduced my young kids to the Boxcar Children Series. They are like Nancy Drew & the Hardy Boys but intended for younger kids.

It was in my elementary school’s library. I made a point to take my kids to the library and borrow these wonderful books.

It’s a double winner because the kids got their library card and were introduced to all the books in the local library’s children’s section.

No kids, but I’ve seen* Caillou *a couple of times. I think that he has been dropped on his head. A lot.

On the other hand, I like Peg + Cat.

They aren’t coming out with any new shows, but when my son was younger, he really enjoyed The Backyardigans. It was very tolerable compared to everything else out there. Oh, and Phineas and Ferb too, but that might be when yours is a little older. Good luck! At least it’s not Teletubbies or Barney!!!

I find it amusing how many BANNED posters there are in this Zombie about kid’s shows.

Well most of the shows here aren’t on as much since universal bought out sprout and is trying to make it a generic nickelodeon “universal kids”

Although 2 or so years ago you could tell pbs was pulling out of the channel because 1 they have multiple pbs kid stations and 2 it was replaced by horrible totally generic euro cartoons like the jungle bunch and talking vehicle shows …

The half hour sesame street on hbo family might as well not exist… its just the mid 00 sesame street with out elmos world they even took out the in between murray bits … and animation like the fairy school stuff …

The cringe worthy show ive seen is tim and topsy … the grandmas dog episode , blech
