I’ve seen several promos for this show. At risk of having to eat these words, I’m gonna say this will likely not make it past it’s initial run of episodes, if that much.
Bad promos sometimes do not a bad show make. Give it a few episodes and see how it goes.
It does look very dumb. Perhaps they expect people will buy math = crime-solving magic because nobody understands math? Maybe they’re right, I don’t know.
“DROP IT!! I’ve got a quadratic equation and I’m not afraid to use it!”
No matter how good or bad the show turns out to be, I detest the title.
“Numbthreers” is how it’s being pronounced around here. It’s not an ‘e’, it’s a ‘3’ dammit. Stop pretending numbers are letters. It was dumb when “Se7en”* did it, it’s dumb when snotty l337 h@xx0r5 do it, and it’s dumb when your show does it too.
*Pronounced “Sesevenen.”
Every time I see a commercial, I can’t resist:
Dum de dum dum!
Mathnet!
HAHAHAHA!! “My name is Monday. This is my partner, Frankly…”
I think it looks unbelieveably stupid.
I don’t think I’ll go out of my way to watch it, but if I am channel surfing and it is on, I’ll probably watch.
Not because I think it will be actually good of course. It’s just that I think the two main guys are hot and I think it could be quite unintentionally funny.
If is as good as “Mathnet”, then I’ll watch

Seems like too limited a premise to support an extended run. I wonder if they’ll just evolve into a show where the FBI agent gets the “A” story and the math guy gets an unrelated “B” story.
Oh man, now THAT is a nostalgia laugh. Mathnet! Wow.
I think you underestimate the masses. Look at the wild popularity of The DaVinci Code. Codes and mathematics are pretty closely linked.
Yeah, but that’s also about secrets and treasure and religion. Apparently people are nuts for that crap. Not so much for math.
I think it looked good, and i don’t watch crappy shows–except for reality tv. cough.
we’ll see, can’t tell yet.
So far, Rob Morrow looks like he’s trying to act like David Caruso. Ugh.
That guy from that weird lawyer show is in it, too. And Alex the taxi driver. Hmmm…
And it stars the lovel Sabrina Lloyd (Sliders, Sports Night). That means I will aotomatically give it an extra few shows chnace…

OK, I take that back. His character was doing it just for effect in the one scene. So far, it’s actualy kind of cool. In a Jake 2.0 kind of way.
Good call on the Sliders girl. I knew i should know her.
Well, so far (approx. halfway through the episode) it’s not bad. It’s not CSI, but it’s got some potential.
And hey, Dr. Childers from Silence of the Lambs is in it too. I don’t know what it is with that actor, but I really enjoy watching him act like an ass. A very specialized character actor, I suppose.
I’ll keep checking it out - but I really like House, too.
I’m going to be looking for a technical evaluation of the show tomorrow.
How could they DNA test all those guys in the area? Don’t only a certain percentage of people secrete cells in their saliva?
