Number of days for winter vacation?

How many days are you/your sibling/your children getting out for winter vacation this year? Normally my nieces and youngest sister get 14 or 15 days for winter break. This year they’re getting 23, due to the budget shortfall. (This is counting weekends.)

They’re also getting getting an extra day on spring vacation, an entire week off for thanskgiving, and entire week off in October for a fall break, and 4 half days, all of which are days they didn’t get last year.

They had the normal two weeks in July at the end of the second term (Mon 5 Jul - Fri 16 Jul). The next school holidays are also two weeks, after the third term (Mon 27 Sep - Fri 8 Oct).

The lil folks in my town are off December 24th to January 2nd, so ten days. That looks like the same schedule I had at their age, so I guess it hadn’t changed. Actually, if you compare to last year’s calendar, it’s actually a shorter break because they returned on the 5th then instead of the 3rd.

10 school days, as always.

Dec 24 to Jan 4. Including two weekends, that’s 10 days.

For me, December 22 - January 2. The Spring semester actually doesn’t start until January 18 but the intersession runs from January 3-14 and I’ll be taking a class then.
Edit to add: I just occurred to me. You didn’t specifically say children only. But, if you weren’t looking for college students then I’ll add my nephew. He gets 10 school days. I think it’s 14 total when you add weekends.

Holy hell. They’re practically on vacation more than they’re in school. How are they supposed to learn anything when they’re never there?

What state is this?
