Number of Suicides you've known personally.

Ten percent of my high school graduating class had committed suicide within five years of my leaving the place.

Of course, I only graduated with nineteen other people, so that’s not as impressive as it sounds.

Interestingly, all the suicides I knew (and I’ve known several) were people I met before I was 18. I’m 40 now.

Two, about 25 years apart, yet very similar.

First was my ex-boyfriend, second was a friend since grade school.

Both were hopelessly addicted to pretty much any drug they could get, hi, low, prescription, street…they just needed to be altered.

Both were hopelessly addicted to gambling, and both were destroying everything in their lives behind it.

And both of them asphyxiated themselves with carbon monoxide from their car exhaust, one in his garage, the other in his van by the beach by running a pipe in the cab of the van.
