Nuns and Priests

We all know that the Cathlic church is going through this scandal.

It’s been my expierence that more Nuns deal with children, in school and sunday school then Priests do.

Why then is it Priests that are the one doing this ? Is there something about men that makes them more prone to pedophilia then women ? Have there been any reports about Nuns molesting children ?

I am not sure that I put this in the right place, but I see potential for a debate. Please feel free to move this, if it should be moved.

Pedophilia is almost always seen in males and is seldom diagnosed in females..

Although the vast majority of pedophilia is among males, female pedophilia does exist. However, female pedophilia is not commonly reported, possibly because the female’s affection shown toward a child is seen as maternal, as opposed to sexual in the males.

Additionally, male children do not view sexual relations with adult women negatively, and therefore may not report the incident. However, it is reportedly fairly common for young males (12 years old or younger) to engage in sexual activities (usually sexual intercourse) with adult women, usually in their twenties, who are usually known by the boys and typically friends of parents, neighbors or baby-sitters.

Well it is two factors working together:

Soceity has made women more sexually repressed than men so they are aless likely to express sexuality in general, especially a kind of sexuality like pedophilia that is seen as evil.

Secondly because males are less sexually repressed boys are more likely to be comfotrtable with a sexual relationship with an older partner than a girl would.

With these two factors working simultaneously it isnt hard to see why very little older woman/younger boy abuse is reported.
