Nursing mothers and DDT

No, it doesn’t mean Drop Dead Twice. :stuck_out_tongue: This was an insecticide banned more than 25 years ago. I once read that it was not advisable for mothers to nurse their babies because mother’s milk contained DDT, though I have not the foggiest idea how it would get into milk. Am I correct?

According to this chart, http://www.aap.org/policy/00026t7.htm
DDT has no impact on breast feeding. IIRC, one of the largest environmental impacts of DDT was that it caused birds’ eggs to crumble before hatching.

Thanks, Ursa.
