judge to trump lawyer: can you control your client, this is not a political rally.
“He’s going off the rails on a crazy train.”
h/t to Ozzy Osbourne
CNN: Trump has been told to stop bragging about how much money he has. (1041 EST.)
trump is saying he thought the apartment was too high, but that mar-a-lago was very underestimated. basically he believe the assets should be valued at what ever he feels they should be.
CNN: NYT poll indicates that if Trump loses this New York case, he loses five or six swing states in the general election, and thus loses the election.
the election and possibly quite a few properties.
Any idea what the exact phrasing of the poll question was?
ETA: it seems like it’s this, but paywalled, I can’t see it
No idea. I’m just going on what the talking heads on CNN are saying.
Judge has just told Kise to control his client. Paraphrased, Judge said, “It was simple yes/no question, it is not the opportunity for a political speech. Control your client.”
judge is saying if kise can not control trump, “i will excuse him and draw every negative inference”.
CNN analyst (former lawyer): “This is a mess.”
Two minutes later, Trump says, “This is an unfair trial.”
Gee, yathink he’d say anything but?
trump’s lawyers just tried to instruct the judge. oh dear, this is not a good day.
But it’s an entertaining one, that’s for sure. I just wish we weren’t getting things secondhand, and were getting them direct via TV or audio. Well, they’re entertaining anyway.
this is why any criminal trial trump has must be televised or at least audio. having transcripts read is not the best.
Break time, Trump exits the courtroom. A reporter asks, “How’s it going in there?” Trumps says nothing, and indicates that he will say nothing.
Awww, comeon Trumpy! Aren’t you going to attack the judge’s clerk some more? Why not? Are you chicken? cluck cluck cluck cluck. Chicken!
he did his arms crossed pouty thing on the stand. this is crazy.
ooooh, judge raised his voice and told the attorneys to “sit down”.
oh dear.
A fun and humorous observation, @Euphonious_Polemic , but there’s an element of truth to it. You just know that Trump would love to say something (CNN: “He’s very long winded”), so by him saying nothing, maybe his lawyers have managed to penetrate that orange head of his and convinced him that every time he opens his mouth to say anything but Yes or No, he digs himself deeper into a hole.
I feel like he’s been convinced to stop talking a few times over the past few weeks/months and it only seems to work for a day or two.
He genuinely acts like a 5 year old.
Yeah, this may be the first time in the trial that he HASN’T said something upon exiting the courtroom.
