The whole aspect of linking this with Obama has me flustered enough already. All the ads we got were about how the Democrats support Obama. And now the Democrats losing the Senate is about Obama.
Granted, this is the first time I’m noticing stuff like this. Did this sort of thing happen with other presidents when their party lost in the midterms?
I gotta say, I’m pretty impressed with Bricker’s performance throughout this thread. I think he’s demonstrated model behavior in the face of some rather unwarranted aggression. (Just my take. And yeah, I realize this is the Pit, where aggressive maulings are par for the course.)
He’s clearly stated his contempt for the Post’s behavior, right off the bat; and then frankly re-affirmed this when someone demanded that he state his (already clearly-stated) position.
He’s pointed out some fair examples of similar (if not equivalent) behavior on the other end of the political spectrum in response to a hyperbolic suggestion that only one side pulls this kind of crap.
He’s calmly responded to an accusation of using tu quoque and carefully explained why this is not a case of tu quoque. (Thereby fighting at least my ignorance.)
And he frankly admitted when he was mistaken about something (that is, when he neglected to play by some rather arbitrarily made up rules).
