I’ve always been surprised how well he did on radio. He did well enough to stay on a big station (WABC) for many years. He had a show with ultra liberal Ron Kuby for about a decade.
NBC News just called it for Mamdani.

My main disappointment is that it wasn’t more of a rout. Would have liked to have seen a 20% or more margin for Mamdani.
So what exactly will Mamdani be able to do as mayor: don’t his policy proposals all have to be approved by the City Council? Are they very left wing–or are they owned by the real estate industry and similar groups?
It’s worse than that, a lot of what he wants to do would need to be approved by Albany.
Mamdani is going hard! Opened with a quote from Eugene V. Debs, then wished Cuomo a happy private life, saying that tonight would be the last time he would ever utter that name.
That was a barn-burner of a speech. And he called out the President directly. Yikes!

I think that’s the first time I’ve heard him speak at length, and I am completely fired up now. How am I supposed to go to bed after that?

You would probably have seen a 30 or 40 percent margin if Cuomo had buggered off and it was just Mamdani vs Sliwa.

It’s funny that people (on both sides, but especially righties) are having huge emotional reactions to “NYC Elects Socialist Mayor!!!” But it’s only been four years since the last self-identified Socialist Mayor, Bill De Blasio, left office! He was certainly never popular with the NY Post reading types, but there wasn’t anything like this extreme over the top derangement we’ve seen so many examples of in this thread. I wonder what explanation there could possibly be for people feeling so much more threatened by Mamdami?
