Argent Towers claimed this was nothing more than a stunt by Mayor Bloomberg. I just pointed out what I thought was a similar stunt. Nothing anyone has posted since has convinced me otherwise.
No charges were filed with the locals and the already known fact that people don’t always abide by gun laws was shown again. What part of it wasn’t a stunt? He’s been doing this for a while now.
I never said it wasn’t, just that it’s not the only one.
Gotcha.
The investigators drove past Ohio where it’s perfectly legal to sell a gun without a background check at a gun show. Sounds like they wanted a tax funded vacation out west.
If the tax payers don’t want to spend money on Bloomberg’s anti-gun ambitions they are welcome to show that in the form of votes. Last I checked though he’s very popular with his voters, maybe this is the type of thing they want their tax dollars to go to. In the long run if every state enforced the gun laws already on the books, there would be less guns to be used for crimes in NYC.
He’s less popular these days. But it’s more a matter of ‘personal bugaboo’ rather than people supporting his crusade. They got other things to worry about these days. You know, jobs, snow, snow removal, lack of snow removal, ten foot high mountains of snow on every corner, and parking.
Also jobs. And snow.
And congestion pricing. Ten bucks to drive into Manhattan my ass.
And the snow, horrible snow.
Nah, Arizona has just been in the news recently and it’s much sexier to go there than Ohio.
Cite that they “went there” rather than just being hired there? They had Arizona ID’s, so it sounds like they didn’t come from anywhere.
You’re right Dio, I don’t think New Yorkers literally went there and bought the guns as I seriously doubt they would forge Arizona licenses to conduct their investigation. I should have instead said that they focused their investigation in Arizona because of recent headlines.
I have to admit that you bring up a valid point. Maybe we shouldn’t be focusing who funded it and instead focus on whether or not those selling at the gun show were actually doing something illegal.
