One of his campaign promises was to sit down at the table and meet with even our enemies, if need be, in the name of finding resolution to the worlds problems.
And I’m behind that thinking.
But now, he’s refusing to meet with the Dalai Lama.
Say what? He’ll sit down with our enemies but not the leader of a religion known largely for it’s emphasis on non violence and compassion and peace. I mean he won the Nobel Peace Prize, come on!
I believe it’s been established in other threads that Obama has not refused to meet the Dalai Lama, just that he is not going to do so before he goes to China.
I don’t think there’s much to be gained for the Tibetan people, or for any of our other diplomatic goals regarding China, by meeting with the Dali Lama. Tibet is going to stay under Chinese control for the indefinite future, if we want to influence their actions there, meeting with a guy they accuse of fomenting violent uprisings probably isn’t going to help. It might feel good, but I don’t think its likely to get results.
WTF? They’re 4-0. The defense looks great. I bet they shellac OleMiss. If so, they’ll be firmly in first place in the west - poised for a rematch showdown in Atlanta with the Gators. I also hear they won the peace prize, or something.
Since when did a false premise, faulty logic, lack of analysis, and a paucity of facts ever get in the way of horseshit like this OP?
elbows, did you even know who the Dalai Lama was before you decided to repeat this drivel? Do you give a shit for the people of Tibet, or is this simply reason #5,693 to bash Obama?
Ooooooo Bama, where the monks wait second to complain.
