Oak's NFL Fantasy League 2013

I somehow ended up with 8 WR, so The Lorem Ipsums are having a fire sale.

I have
Randall Cobb
Steve Smith
Alshon Jeffery
Danny Amendola
Mike Williams
Keenan Allen
Brian Hartline
Cecil Shorts

I’m looking for a QB, RB, or TE. All players are up for grabs for the right price and I’m willing to make a 2 for 1 deal. If you’re interested, make me an offer.

Sent you a PM

Guess I should’ve been a bit more aggressive with my trades. Half of my WR corp went down this weekend, and it sounds like they will all be out next week at minimum. After Vernon Davis’s monster game, all I would’ve needed was a decent game out of them to give me the win.

I keep guessing wrong with James Jones. When I play him, he does nothing or gets hurt, as he did yesterday. When I bench him, he puts up huge points.

Almost glad the bye week gives me an excuse to bench Colston this week. It’s like Drew Brees forgot Colston’s out there lately.

Sheesh. I wish I had some other excuse than I’m working 12-hour days so I don’t have much time to do the homework on my team, but that’s pretty thin.

I’m totally dead last. I thought I had a chance with Big Ben and Eli at the helm, but we all know how that’s going.

Again: Sheesh.

Question of the Week: Can anyone stop the Chicago Bears? 7-0 so far…

Well, I got pretty lucky, having both my opponent’s QB’s going down early. Although it’s pretty crappy that even Monday night players going on waivers on Sunday, since I was stuck with Brandon Jacobs and couldn’t pick up anyone else even if I wanted to.

Unfortunately, the likely answer to that question is “yes.” I’m getting brutalized by byes in the next two weeks, though my opponent this week has at least as many byes as I do. I obviously had a good draft, but I would say I’m getting a nice measure of luck, too. I know there is no defense in fantasy football, but it seems that every team I play has their worst scoring week against me. I don’t expect that to last. And even if I went 14-0, all it takes is one loss in week 15 or 16 to ruin everything.

All right. This is my week to shine! It’s going to happen! I’ve got to make headway like a breach baby! Out of the basement and into the sewer! My fantasy football is going to DO something this week, I can feel it!

P.S. Anybody want to take Big Ben off my hands? I’m willing to give him up cheap!

What do you want for him?

Suggestion for next year, if it’s too late to change it this year: Waives should be switched from Sunday-Tuesday to Game Time-Tuesday. Right now, it’s set up to Thursday night players are available immediately, and it’s impossible to pick up a Sunday afternoon/night player before their game starts (which means you can be screwed if a Sunday afternoon player is announced out and you can’t pick up their backup.

Well, looking at your roster, you seem pretty banged up as well. I was hoping for a good receiver.

I might need to hang on to Ben to fill my QB roster until after this week due to a bye, but I’d be willing to give him for Cruz or maybe Gonzalez. I figure maybe you owe me due to you stealing all my fave draft picks after all.

But I’m open to ideas. I’m free all w/end this time so I can put some thought into this.

Ugh, I lost by 50 points and I left 75 points on my bench.

That sucked.

I managed to take down the great and powerful Chicago Bears! I am very proud of my little team right now.

Not having looked at Yahoo all day, I thought I had you after that (Julius) Thomas touchdown. You prevented me from getting the “10 wins in a row” badge and I will not forget that.

:shaking fist: You will all rue the day you subjected me to this humiliating season! I have never, never finished in the bottom half of a fantasy football season. Vengeance shall be mine!!!

As in week 1, Darnassus is involved again in robbing me of the “closest margin of victory” medal, this time by 0.18 points.

Wow, what a fantastic match-up with Lorem. I’ll see your Alshon Jeffery and Raise you one Eric Decker.

Yeah… that sucked. I was watching the Bears game on DVR, so I couldn’t check my fantasy scores until the afternoon games were already coming to an end. Can’t say I was expecting the lose this one after that amazing performance.

Well, well, well. I made it to the Champ Game. I didn’t see me beating the Bears but then the biggest factor in FF can sure be a healthy dose of luck at the right time.
